New MacBook Pro In 2016: No Headphone Jack, New Design And ‘Touch Bar’ Panel Rumors

Most Apple fans agree that the MacBook Pro needs a new edition. In the fall of 2016, a new Macbook Pro is expected, and the latest rumors suggest that it will follow the iPhone 7 and come without a headphone jack.

It looks like Apple is heading toward a wireless future, and a user took a screenshot of a survey where Apple asks whether MacBook Pro with Retina owners ever use the headphone jack.

It makes sense that Apple will also release future products without the headphone port to support the Apple ecosystem among newer device editions.

The new MacBook Pro is rumored to come with a touch panel with Touch ID functionality that will allow users quick access with fingerprint login. This may be featured on the MacBook Pro’s power button or Apple may decide to put the fingerprint access functionally on the touchpad. The fingerprint scan may also come with its own strip.

The update will also feature a design overhaul with a thinner frame than the currently available models. According to a Bloomberg report, a source stated that the new graphics processor will be powerful enough to run powerful video games.

“The updated notebooks will be thinner, include a touch screen strip for function keys, and will be offered with more powerful and efficient graphics processors for expert users such as video gamers, said the people, who asked not to be named.”

The late Steve Jobs believed that tablets will eventually replace laptops all together. However, Apple’s 13- and 15-inch Retina MacBook Pros are still in high demand and are trending to perform better than the iPad.

Bloomberg also reported on Apple potential abandoning the Intel processor.

“An option for a version featuring a higher-performance graphics chip from Advanced Micro Devices Inc. will be available, another person familiar with the matter said. It’s unclear which provider Apple will use for the main processor, but Intel Corp. has supplied this in the past.”

Apple is most likely to use Intel’s latest-generation Skylake processors in the new MacBook. However, its sole competitor AMD may offer a better processor that suits the thinner model expected to be released in 2016.

“Apple is using one of AMD’s ‘Polaris’ graphics chips because the design offers the power efficiency and thinness necessary to fit inside the slimmer Apple notebook, the person said. The new graphics card is more than 20 percent thinner than its predecessor, AMD said earlier this year. AMD declined to comment, referring inquiries to Apple.”

There are also rumors that Apple may be using its own chip on the new MacBook Pro line. The A10 Fusion chip in the iPhone 7 could be upgraded or developed for the MacBook Pro.

The A10 also technically has the power to handle the performance of a laptop.

There is no expectation of any changes with the colors of the MacBook Pro, and a 13-inch and 15-inch model will probably make a comeback. The laptop is expected to feature USB-C ports and USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gb/s support. This will support very high transfer speeds of up to 10GB per second, allowing you to transfer huge files almost instantly.

OLED touch panel is expected to have screens that change, depending on what application you are using. This will feature a touch sensitive strip, which allows you to choose certain functions available on the given application.

The new MacBook Pro event is expected in October 2016 and will feature very significant changes since it has been almost four years without an update.
