Leganes: Preview

Leganes has only won one of their three La Liga games since their arrival from the second division. Leganes shocked Celta Vigo at their own home in the opening game, but have struggled since. They are placed 13th in the league with four points from three games.

This is not a perfect time for Leganes to face a tough team of Barcelona’s caliber. They recently lost an away match at Gijon where Sporting Gijon hit two goals during the first half, but Leganes could only respond a goal and lost three points.

Barcelona: Preview

If there is any team who have the most strongest winning character in Europe, then it would surely be Barcelona. The Catalans suffered a shock defeat against Alaves at Camp Nou last weekend. The only way to recover from that defeat was to win the UCL game against Celtic. The Blaugrana not only won the game but gave a masterclass performance that will surely be remembered as one of the best nights in Barcelona’s European history.

The famed trio — Messi, Suarez, Neymar — were simply outstanding in the game, and they produced some moments of magic to wow the jubilant home crowd. Messi scored a brilliant hat-trick in the match, showing an incredible appetite to attack every time the ball arrives at his feet. Neymar and Suarez got on the score sheet too. The Brazilian star further contributed to the team, assisting four goals for his pals.

Messi was praised highly by his coach Luis Enrique after the game, saying,

“If you play him[Messi] as a six, an eight or a 10, he’s the best in the world. It wouldn’t be clever to curtail that, to put limits on him.

“That’s why he’s the best player of all time, without a doubt – for his numbers and his footballing vision. He is total football.”

There are no new injury concerns for Barcelona from the Celtic game. Andres Iniesta, who was sidelined through an injury, also returned for Barcelona in the game to give manager Luis Enrique a major boost.

Leganes vs. Barcelona: Prediction

There is never a perfect time to face Barcelona. Celtic understood this more than anyone in the last game, as Barcelona thrashed them without mercy, even after coming back from a disappointing home loss. Also, the football world saw the reunion of MSN — Messi, Neymar and Suarez — for the first time this season in the starting lineup, and it was ridiculously one side game. Leganes is also devoid of a tip-top shape mentally following their loss this weekend. So we predict a comfortable win for Lionel Messi and Co.

Final Predicted Score: Barcelona 3, Leganes 1
