Heading into the game, Arsenal is in a confident mood following their dramatic win over Southampton in the Premier League. The Gunners secured a 2-1 win after a hard fought performance at St. Mary’s stadium. It looked like that Arsenal would yet again lose the points in the league, but a foul on Oliver Giroud in the penalty box provided Arsenal with an opportunity to score from the spot. Santi Cazorla stepped up and made sure that the North London club will travel to face Paris Saint-Germain with a vital win.

Also, watch the first goal for Arsenal, a spectacular overhead kick by the captain, Laurent Koscielny.

The game also witnessed the debut of two of the new signings for Arsenal: Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez. The duo didn’t have an incredible game, but it is fair to say that they will have a massive impact for Arsenal this year and the years to come.

Arsene Wenger has no new injury concerns for the PSG game. On top of that, Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista has returned to full fitness and he may be available for the Paris Saint-Germain game. Paulista’s availability is a huge boost for Arsenal as he will provide multiple options for Wenger in defense.

Long term absentees Danny Welbeck and Per Mertasacker will miss the clash, and so will Aaron Ramsey, who is currently nursing a hamstring injury.

France football’s biggest team Paris Saint-Germain is last season’s quarter-finalist of the Champions League. However, the club has made an underwhelming start in the Ligue 1. PSG is currently placed fourth in the league standings with just seven points from first four games.

In their latest game, PSG could only managed a draw against an impressive Saint Etienne. Brazilian winger Lucas Moura put PSG ahead in the 67th minutes, but a late goal from Robert Beric in injury time made the Paris-based club lose two points.

New manager Unai Emery, unlike his counterpart Arsene Wenger, has lots of injury concerns for this game, as reported by the Metro Sport. The PSG boss has just three fit defenders and no natural left-back vs. Arsenal. Serge Aurier, Maxwell and the skipper Thiago Silva are already side-lined with injuries, and left-back Layvin Kurzawa also picked up a hamstring injury to pile up PSG problems. However, Silva has a slight chance to be fit before the game on Tuesday.

Former Barcelona midfielder Thiago Motta is expected to play as a makeshift left-back for PSG.

Manager Emery’s concern going into the Arsenal game is not only the defense. PSG has struggled since Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure, and the team looked incapable of scoring goal at times in recent games. Edinson Cavani was expected to fill the Ibrahimovic void, but he has failed spectacularly so far. New arrival Hatem Ben Arfa has also failed to find the form which made him a wanted man in top European clubs this summer.

Starting Lineups

Arsenal Predicted Line-Up (4-2-3-1): Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Cazorla; Sanchez, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Giroud.

PSG Predicted Line-Up (4-3-3): Trapp; Meunier, Silva, Marquinhos, Motta; Matuidi, Verrati, di Maria; Moura, Cavani, Ben Arfa.

PSG vs. Arsenal: Match Prediction

A year ago PSG looked a team who would challenge the Champions League trophy in coming years. But the French club seems a faded force this season. They seem destabilized by the change of manager, while Arsenal are a well-settled team bolstered by new signings in many area of the pitch. However, PSG have some quality players in their team, and their individual quality can win a game individually at times. Also PSG will have that home advantage in the game.

Final Predicted Score: PSG 2-2 Arsenal
