‘Arrow’ Season 5 Will See The Return Of Colton Hayne’s Roy Harper And The Debut Of Echo Kellum’s Mister Terrific

A lot of changes are ahead in Season 5 of Arrow.

The upcoming year will feature a number of new characters along with one familiar face in Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper.

What other characters will make their debut in the new season?

According to Cinema Blend, Haynes was spotted on set during production of Season 5.

Harper’s return to Star City is still shrouded in mystery, though he might become a part of Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) new team now that Diggle (David Ramsey), Thea (Willa Holland), and Captain Lance (Paul Blackthorne) are all taking a break.

Harper would be a valuable asset to Oliver’s team, especially in helping guide younger vigilantes. He might even help some of the newer members of the team get into proper fighting condition.

As fans will recall, Harper, also known as Arsenal, faked his death back in Season 3. Harper had to stay out of Star City until things cooled down, and he made a brief appearance last season.

With Oliver winning the election for mayor, he can probably bring Arsenal back to the city without too much controversy.

Thea has been reluctant to become Speedy again, and might need another motivational speech from Harper to get back in action.

Whatever the reason for Harper’s return, Screen Rant is reporting that fans will see him early in Season 5 of Arrow.

In fact, Echo Kellum, who is playing Curtis Holt (Mister Terrific) in the new season, posted a few pics of Haynes on set in Vancouver.

The photos confirmed Haynes’ part in the new season, though it still isn’t clear when and how long he will be on the show.

Apart from Harper, We Got This Covered is reporting that fans will finally get a look at Mister Terrific in action in Season 5.

“There’s something about Curtis that’s very driven. I think you’ll see some of the hurdles he’ll have to pass,” Kellum shared. “You’ll see that his drive really pushes him through everything. Whether it was the Olympics or now getting into the field with Team Arrow, I think it’s going to be a really fun journey.”

According to Comic Book Resources, Kellum also revealed that Mister Terrific’s mask will make a debut next season.

“The mask is happening this year… You can definitely expect it in the first nine.”

However, before Kellum suits up and fights crime, he’ll need to spend a lot of time training with Oliver.

How will Curtis handle Oliver’s tough training sessions?

“You’re going to see him fail and keep striving,” Kellum assured fans.

Curtis was part of the show last season and even helped Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) deal with Damien Darhk’s atomic plans for Star City.

Indeed, Curtis became a valuable component to Team Arrow last season and will continue to offer technical services to Oliver.

When asked if Curtis is similar to Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) from The Flash, Kellum admitted there are similarities between the characters.

“In a sense, yeah. They have differences, but the team definitely won’t have to outsource their tech needs to S.T.A.R. Labs,” he shared.

At the same time, Wendy Mericle revealed that Mister Terrific will suit up at some point within the first nine episodes.

“We’re so excited about it,” Mericle stated. “Echo is amazing; he brings such a different energy and fun to the bunker. He’ll have an evolution over the season, but you’ll definitely be seeing him in action in the first nine episodes. He’s a badass, he’s awesome — we’re excited!”

The new season of Arrow is scheduled to premiere October 5 on The CW.
