WWE News: Seth Rollins Says It’s A Great Time To Love Pro Wrestling

Stepping back and looking at the WWE from afar, things just don’t add up. Something has changed within those walls, and not many folks can put their finger on the pulse of the change. As far as who is behind the new direction of WWE, that’s to be determined. Vince McMahon is a name that’s been thrown around, but the guys he likes aren’t getting pushed. Triple H may have a lot to do with it. He’s been taking pictures with all of the WWE NXT talent getting that appear on the main roster.

Before anyone gets into who is making the decisions, let’s look at the SummerSlam card that’s confirmed. Dolph Ziggler won the No. 1 contender six-pack challenge on Smackdown Live to face Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Heavyweight championship at SummerSlam. Seth Rollins will face former-NXT champion Finn Balor for the WWE Universal championship. Brock Lesnar is slated to face Randy Orton in a non-title match.

With less than a month until SummerSlam, two matches are geared to one kind of fan: a fan that loves professional wrestling. It has a different feel. The big guys that McMahon is known to push to the moon aren’t getting the spotlight they once did. Reigns and Cena aren’t vying for the belt. Cena isn’t in a title match at SummerSlam for the first time since 2010. A new regime is beginning, and a former-WWE champion is noticing.

Social media is almost like a high-risk move in the WWE. It’s high-risk, high-reward, but for those that use it for a good purpose get the most out of it. Seth Rollins took to Twitter to explain why this is the best time to watch professional wrestling.

Scott Fishman, a writer for the Miami Herald, immediately commented on Rollins’ statements about wrestling and agreed with “the man.”

The changes to the WWE are up front and center, which is getting rid of the doubt many fans previously had. For example, in an earlier report by the Inquisitr, the original SummerSlam plans called for Rollins to face Reigns for the new title on WWE Raw. Obviously, that isn’t happening anymore. Finn Balor and Rollins are going to probably main event SummerSlam for a new championship.

That’s right. Balor and Rollins are going to fight for the most-prestigious belt in the WWE. 10 years ago, that wasn’t happening. Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero were anomalies. Batista, Cena, Orton, and Triple H were dominating the company. All of them were bigger guys with the “look” of a WWE champion. The Indy wrestler wasn’t prominent.

Rollins talked about a generation that was almost lost. That generation is the one that just loves to wrestle. Cesaro, Ambrose, Rollins, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and many others are carrying the torch for the WWE, but there are others for promotions around the world who are making an impact. Never before has there been so much good wrestling, and the WWE is at the epicenter of that.
