Instagram App Down? #InstagramCrash Sends People To Twitter

Don’t “do it for The Gram.” Instagram has been having problems, report users who have sent hashtags like #instagramcrash and #instagramdown to prominent places on Twitter. As a result of Instagram appearing to go down intermittently for users on Monday, July 25 — as well as Tuesday, July 26 — all sorts of jokes are being made across social media platforms about food bloggers and IG models not knowing what to do with themselves.

According to Bustle, the problem with Instagram going down for some users began on Monday. Apparently, Instagram would allow some users to load the Instagram app, but Insta would end up kicking them out of the app at some point. Thousand of IG users turned to Twitter to express their frustrations over Instagram being down and to commiserate with one another.

Whereas conflicting reports claimed the Instagram app worked for Android users and not iOS users, others report that Instagram was crashing for users on both platforms. As reported by Indian Express, certain Instagram users who turned away from the app in order to load Instagram via their website also experienced problems.

If anything, the hubbub over the Instagram crash shows just how popular the photo-sharing app has become. While the common workaround being touted on social media is for users to delete the Instagram app and then re-install it, some users report having done so but wrote that they still experienced problems after deleting and re-installing Instagram on their mobile devices. Certain users reported having to delete and reinstall the Instagram app more than once to try and get it to remain stable on their phones.

Whereas some folks might view Instagram as a silly and selfish social media site full of selfies, others know what a powerful platform Instagram can be for those who use it for business reasons. Artists, clothing sellers, fitness coaches and lots of other entrepreneurs use Instagram to promote and sell their wares, oftentimes including links to their online retail stores in their Instagram profile.

As of this writing, the official Instagram account on Twitter has not made mention of the Instagram outages.

Instagram represents a powerful tool for sharing news, promoting memes and selling items and services. Therefore, reports of the Instagram outage having affected Insta users across the world — including in the U.S., Japan, and Australia — the social media shutdown is no laughing matter for everyone.

That fact hasn’t stopped others from joking that Instagram fans have been sitting still in front of their meals, hungry because they won’t eat until they can take a pic for Insta and upload it to their favorite social network.
