WWE News: Lita Moving On To New Position After WWE Draft

WWE Hall of Fame Diva Lita was there when the WWE announced that they were upgrading the WWE Diva’s division into the WWE Women’s division, bringing legitimacy to the lady wrestlers. Lita, who was at the forefront of the women’s movement last time they mattered, along with Trish Stratus, was already on staff with the WWE at the time as an agent and producer for the women’s division. 411mania reported that Lita will be leaving that position for a new one now that the WWE Draft has ended.

Instead of working as an agent and producer and helping the new breed of women’s wrestlers, Lita will move back in front of the cameras on a regular basis. The new job for Lita will be working as a full-time panelist for the WWE Network pre- and post-shows. Lita has been doing this in a guest role for a few months now, but she will now join the panel full-time. Lita had worked as a producer and agent in the WWE since 2015.

The WWE pre- and post-show panels have been hosted by Rene Young with Booker T, Corey Graves, and a special guest for every episode over the last two years. It is unclear at this time whether Lita will replace one of the main individuals or if they will forego the guests and have four full-time hosts from here on.

The addition of Lita to the pre- and post-show coverage is a positive one for the WWE Women’s division. When Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks all moved up to the main roster, it was seen as a huge turning point for the WWE women. However, the first year saw Charlotte feuding with the old guard — the Divas who were more style than substance.

The new revolution won, or at least Charlotte did before she moved on to better feuds with people like Becky Lynch and Natalia. However, the best of the group is Sasha Banks, who was ignored for much of the year thanks to injuries, including a concussion. It looks like Sasha Banks is returning to the center of things, and Lita coming on as a new host is a sign of positive things to come for the promotion of the WWE women.

Lita originally joined the WWE as a valet to Essa Rios and proved to be more than just a valet when she hit moves like moonsaults off the top buckle onto his opponents and proved she was as talented, if not more so, than other WWE women at the time. She gained most of her popularity in a career making feud with Trish Stratus before finishing up as the manager of Edge.

With the WWE Draft splitting up the women onto WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live, there will be chances for new storylines. This will give Lita a chance to help shine a spotlight in areas that the male announcers usually just gloss over.

This is especially important with new women coming up to the main roster after the WWE Draft. While the best names in NXT — Bayley and Askua — went undrafted, other NXT women found themselves called up. WWE.com reported that these women include the large and green Nia Jax, the popular Carmella, and one of the worst female wrestlers of all time in Eva Marie.

If the WWE fans are to care about Carmella, give Nia Jax a chance, or stop booing Eva Marie out of the building, it might come down to Lita to make them care one way or the other. Lita was part of the Diva’s division the last time fans actually cared and invested in it, and she was in the first every WWE Monday Night Raw main event that featured a women’s single’s match against Trish Stratus. If anyone can make fans care, it is Lita.
