Blake Shelton Reveals Dark Days Before Gwen Stefani Saved His Life: Did She Reject His Proposal Amid Pregnancy Rumors?

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton seem to be living in a fairy tale happy ending after falling in love on The Voice. But before he met Stefani and their romance blossomed, Shelton now admits that he struggled to survive, telling People about the dark days that he experienced.

“This time last year, there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me personally,” recalled the Voice coach. “There was a point there where I thought I didn’t even want to exist anymore.”

The 39-year-old country music singer devoted 10 years of his life to Miranda Lambert. But, after four years of marriage, he and Lambert announced their split.

“This is not the future we envisioned,” they stated.

Following his divorce from Miranda, Blake suffered through dark times before rediscovering love and life in his new relationship with Gwen.

“I told people I wished I could go into a coma and wake up a year from now….[But] here we are a year from now, and [look at] the way things have turned out and how crazy life is sometimes. You never know who’s in your life that can save your life, and I found that out.”

As for their future, Shelton can’t resist gushing about Stefani, leading to speculation that Blake will charm her with a romantic proposal and baby plans.

Shelton recently joked about the constant rumors that she is pregnant, noted Hollywood Take.

“I read that we’re having twins in the latest tabloid, and I think you can fit two humans in [my belly],” mocked Blake. “Maybe three in there!”

Taking his mockery to the next level, Shelton even put on a fake baby bump to pose next to the expectant wife of his buddy Adam Levine.

As for the rumors that he has already thrilled her with a proposal?

“People who read tabloids deserve to be lied to,” proclaimed Shelton.

But there’s no hiding his love, and Blake described how proud he is of the 46-year-old mom of three.

“If she was here right now, not one person here would be looking at anybody else but her,” gushed Shelton. “They may come up and talk to me, but it’s only because I’m one person over from her. Pretty cool.”

As for their duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” Blake also hinted at the heartbreak he felt during and after his split from Miranda, and how that breakup caused trust issues.

“We were just writing it about… it was hard to kind of let our guards down again, you know what I mean?” he sought to clarify. “Just going through some issues, and so that’s what the song was even written about. It’s like, I know something bad is going to happen, because it always does, so let’s just get it over with now.”

Amid the pregnancy rumors, In Touch reported that Stefani and Shelton are “making their baby dreams come true,” according to Gossip Cop, which denounced that report.

The allegations include a source claiming that she has “already begun treatments,” as well as hinting that she is pregnant with twins.

“Gwen’s been told by fertility doctors that she needs to relax her strict diet and workout regimen as she hopes to become pregnant with Blake’s child,” alleges that insider. “Gwen has been told the odds of having twins increase with IVF, and she would be thrilled if that happens.”

However, Stefani’s rep told Gossip Cop that the pregnancy report is “untrue.”

As for the latest on those rumors about Blake and his proposal plans? An insider told Radar Online that Shelton proposed after they had dated for six months, and she refused.

“Gwen was very touched, but said she had to wait to make sure it was right for the kids,” claims the insider.

Blake reportedly proposed when they were having an indoor picnic at her mansion. Inside a box of Kentucky Fried Chicken awaited a $1.2 million Tiffany diamond engagement ring, hidden by Shelton.

However, Blake’s dream that Stefani would discover the engagement ring and be thrilled over the proposal turned into more of a nightmare. In addition to worrying about her three boys (Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2), the insider claims that she rejected Shelton’s proposal because of the gap in their ages.

“Gwen fears their age will get in the way of long-term happiness. She’s 14 years older than Blake’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert!”

Moreover, she reportedly feels that it’s too late for her to have another child, contributing to her reasons for turning down his proposal.

“She’s worried Blake won’t be happy in a marriage where he might never be a father,” added the source.
