WWE News: Update On NXT Superstar Bayley Coming To The Main Roster

WWE NXT Superstar Bayley is considered one of the best female wrestlers on the planet. Her matches with Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Asuka in NXT have been considered match of the year candidates. Her gimmick is beloved by every fan out there it seems. Some say that she could be bigger than John Cena one day, which is saying a lot for a woman in the business of professional wrestling for sure.

This made many wonder, if she is so great, why has she not been called up yet? Surely Bayley could be used well on the main roster and utilized enough there. In fact, WWE even brought Dana Brooke up this past week where she will team up with Emma. This left some furious online, because Brooke was by no means as ready as Bayley.

Now, there is a good reason as to why she has yet to be called up and it is a pretty simple thing. According to Daily Wrestling News, WWE has not brought Bayley up yet because WWE has yet to find someone to replace her on WWE NXT. They don’t have another top female talent to take on that role Bayley would leave. While Asuka, the New NXT Women’s Champion, does have quite a good name value and is useful to lead the women’s division there, she’s basically alone.

Asuka would be surrounded by a slew of women that have not been built up as stars or they are simply not good enough to be at the top yet. Newbies like Nia Jax are not quite working. There are some like Eva Marie who WWE could push to the top, but fans universally do not like her. She also still underperforms in the ring. As a character, she’s fine and works the heel role well. The problem is that she cannot live up to what the NXT crowd wants to see as far as the wrestling side of things go.

WWE has started to build up Alexa Bliss and Carmella, but they need more time. Others like Athena from the independent scene can be used, but WWE has yet to really do anything with her. Liv Morgan is also doing more, and has a great look. Her wrestling ability is improving, but it is not top female worthy yet.

WWE, luckily, does have women around to build up, which is helpful to them. They are also signing and developing people all the time. NXT was blessed to have four amazing workers in Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Bayley. Three are now out of NXT and Bayley has been given the responsibility to lead the NXT women’s division.

Due to this, she simply cannot leave the NXT roster yet. The need is too high for her to stay at this point. The question is, when will WWE ultimately call her up? There is a need to build up more women before she can be called up, but the ideal time for her debut is later this year.

The rumored plan was to have her come in after WWE SummerSlam. Sasha Banks is supposed to be winning the WWE Women’s Championship there, and WWE would want to capitalize on the two working against each other yet again, due to their match of the year candidates from last year at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and NXT Takeover: Respect. It would not be surprising if WWE brought Bayley in to have a major match with Banks by WWE Survivor Series. It would make sense timing wise and would allow for WWE to get the match they want while bringing up a major star to help their women’s division.

Meanwhile, WWE NXT would not be gutted right away and the company could have more than enough time to develop someone that could easily take Bayley’s spot. The question is, who will that person be?
