Watch Tottenham Hotspur Vs. West Brom Live Stream: Spurs Must Win To Stay In Title Race After Leicester Victory

Tottenham Hotspur face a must-win game against West Bromwich Albion Monday, a game that will stream live online and one from which Spurs must take the full three points if they want to retain any realistic chance of winning their first Barclays Premier League title — and first top flight league title since 1961.

After Spurs pulled to within five points of table-topping Leicester City last weekend, blowing past Stoke City 4-0 while Leicester were held 2-2 by West Ham, second-place Tottenham find themselves right back in the same position, eight points out, after the Foxes breezed past Swansea City on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur, playing at White Hart Lane, should in theory be able to prevail over the visiting Baggies, who are muddling along in 14th place, losers of their last three and winless in their last five.

If Spurs prevail, they will have three games to overcome a five-point deficit to Leicester. That means, if Tottenham Hotspur win all three of those remaining contests, Leicester must pick up no more than four points from their three matches — just for Spurs to tie on points.

Tottenham currently hold a nine-goal advantage over Leicester City in the goal difference tiebreaker. As a result, a tie on points will almost certainly give Tottenham the title.

But if Tottenham were to lose or draw against West Brom on “Monday Night Football,” then one Leicester win in the remaining three games mathematically eliminates Spurs and gives the Leicester City Foxes — a team that gained promotion to the Premier League only after the 2013-2014 season and which was in League One as late as 2009 — the first league title in their 122-year history.

The last time Leicester finished as high as second place in the top flight came in 1929.
