Dallas Mavericks star forward Dirk Nowitzki has added another ring to his collection and this one has nothing to do with his on-the-court skills.
According to ESPN, Nowitzki, 34, married his girlfriend Jessica Olsson on July 20 in a low-key fashion at his Dallas-area home in Preston Hollow, Texas.
“”It was very special, and I appreciate their letting me be part of this special day,” Dallas County Judge Craig Smith told the Dallas Morning News.
Judge Smith added that the July 20 ceremony wasn’t the first marriage ceremony for Nowitzki and Olsson, as the couple held a prior ceremony during a Kenyan vacation July 7.
When asked about Dirk and Jessica’s honeymoon plans, Smith revealed:
“Somewhere in the Carribean,” adding that the couple will be holding a third marriage ceremony for close family members.
For his efforts in performing Nowitzki’s wedding ceremony, the judge received a signed Mavs jersey with a personalized note from the NBA All-Star and his new bride.
“To Judge Smith Thank you for being a part of our special day,” the couple, who reportedly met in Scotland in 2010, wrote.
Olsson, 31, was born in Kenya. She is the associate director of the Goss-Michael Foundation art gallery in Dallas and the sister of twin Swedish footballers Martin Olsson and Marcus Olsson.
