WWE News: WWE Furthering Speculation Of New Brand Split After ‘WrestleMania 32’

WWE has been trying to make what they do on television work for some time now, yet it just hasn’t seemed to fit. The fans are overexposed to these men and women on multiple television shows a week, and it is simply too much for some. In fact, getting hurt might have been the best thing to happen to some, as they were gone before WWE fans started to hate seeing them. There are many people even begging for a John Cena return right now. Understand that this is the world we live in, people.

Now, WWE SmackDown has moved to the USA Network, and the company wants to see big success in the move. SyFy did not see a lot of great things for SmackDown after a while, because no one really cared anymore. People saw it as a RAW recap show, and most of the stuff from SmackDown was not worth seeing. Those that were happened to be replayed to set up the RAW scenario we saw each Monday. Literally, there was no point in watching SmackDown for storylines.

Today, matches are the reason to watch, at least. The announce team is fun, too. However, you can miss SmackDown and not miss a storyline all that much. Really, you truly aren’t missing a lot, which is why fans still aren’t caring as much as WWE and USA Network would have hoped. That is why there was a proposed brand split earlier this year. WWE has considered one before, but there wasn’t as much of a point in it. Now, with the move to USA and the need for ratings to change, it makes total sense.

Now it appears that Shane McMahon is the way they will go about it. Most still assumed that even if Shane won, it would not mean a split. A guarantee would still not be there, and WWE could always go forth with the same old thing. However, now there seems to be more proof on the side of the angels here, and a brand split looks to be happening.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE asked for new graphics to be made for RAW and SmackDown. Of course, this happens all the time, so normally this would not be a problem. However, it doesn’t always happen like this. WWE asked for the RAW graphic to show John Cena, Kevin Owens, Nikki Bella, Bray Wyatt, Alberto Del Rio, and Charlotte. The Smackdown graphic was asked to show Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Paige, and The New Day.

While it could mean nothing, normally WWE includes everyone on the roster with the graphics they use for each show. However, to ask for certain people to be used in certain places means that something is up here.

The storyline that has been rumored, but not confirmed, goes like this. Shane McMahon wins against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. He then gets control of WWE RAW, and that would then force out The Authority. Due to Shane specifically asking for RAW control, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon would eventually focus on SmackDown. It could then be that they force a soft split, or Shane could get tired of everything and we could see a WWE Draft like before.

It would be weird for the two Shield boys to be put on SmackDown with The Authority, however.

There was a thought that this would be a way for WWE to test out Triple H and Stephanie. They would have total control of SmackDown creatively, which would basically be a show they book alone without Vince’s major control over their head. Meanwhile, Vince still controls RAW behind the scenes, with Shane on camera doing different things under his name. They could, of course, converse on things, but you never know how that works. It is unknown how long this would last, of course.

Shane McMahon does only need to appear once a week, which means he doesn’t have a ton he has to do that would interfere with his business time. He may also want to come back to WWE as a major player in the executive area. As of now, no one knows where Shane stands other than his family — and they aren’t talking.

Allowing The Game and Billion Dollar Princess to have their own show to control that would show people that they were ready to run WWE or not would be an ideal scenario for both. It wouldn’t take too much away from Vince McMahon, either. Of course, it is all rumored right now, because we do not know for sure that a split is coming. However, if Shane McMahon does win at WrestleMania, it would make the story far more believable, and the scenarios above very well could occur.
