The teams meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. local time time (1:30 p.m. GMT/8:30 a.m. ET) from Dhaka.

India stormed into the 2016 Asia Cup final thanks to a strong bowling performance against Sri Lanka, holding them to 138 for 9. Virat Kohli hit his third fifty in the last three T20 matches, a 47-ball 56 not out.

Now, it will be Bangladesh getting a second crack at India, thanks in part to Pakistan’s susceptibility to losing early wickets.

“Pakistan’s innings followed the same pattern of their previous games, losing three early wickets,” ESPNcricinfo reported. “Khurram Manzoor sent to open the batting, played out the first over and then got out for one off the first ball of the second, an Al-Amin delivery that jumped on him outside off-stump. It was the third time in the four Asia Cup matches that Al-Amin had taken a wicket in his first spell.”

As India so often does, the team has turned up its performance at just the right time. After some uneven performances in an extended trip to Australia, the team has turned in stellar play in the T20 tournament, with strong outings in wins over Bangladesh, Pakistan, and now Sri Lanka. India is expected to roll over UAE as well, though the team may take it easier on Thursday knowing that the finals await.

For India, the 2016 Asia Cup final will be a chance to make up for its near-misses in recent major tournaments, including a loss in the 2015 World Cup semifinal and what was a disappointing finish in the 2014 Asia Cup an a loss in the final of the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.
