WWE Rumors: Recently Released TNA Star Hinting Return To WWE — Here’s The Truth

WWE is truly trying to make a lot of noise right now with Fastlane less than a week away and WrestleMania 32 coming in early April. Some big names could be brought back, and rumor has it that Bill Goldberg, Kurt Angle, or Rey Mysterio are possibilities. Still, it’s hard to tell what will happen until it happens and now a recently released TNA star is teasing her return, and WWE fans may see Awesome Kong, a.k.a. Kharma, soon.

Early in February, Awesome Kong was sent home from TNA’s tour of the U.K. due to a locker room altercation with Reby Sky, Matt Hardy’s wife. The situation did get physical, and it ended with a lot more than Kong just being sent home.

TNA Impact Wrestling did release a statement shortly after and announced that they had indeed released Awesome Kong from her contract.

“We conducted an investigation and determined releasing Awesome Kong is the appropriate action in this case,” said TNA Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Television John Gaburick. “Kong has been a great contributor to TNA and helped solidify the Knockouts as the best female division in professional wrestling. We thank her and wish her well.”

That led to Awesome Kong getting on Twitter to say her final words.

It’s been a few weeks now, and Awesome Kong is a free agent, but is she actually coming back to WWE and maybe taking back on her “Kharma” persona?

Recently, an Instagram account for Kia Stevens (Kong’s real name) started posted some interesting things after her release. A couple of them were the original hype vignettes that WWE aired when Awesome Kong was getting ready to make her debut with the company.

It’s kind of interesting, and maybe it was a sign or a tease that Awesome Kong would be heading back to WWE and living it up again as Kharma. Well, then again, maybe not.

Both of the WWE vignettes were posted on the Instagram account within the last six days. Awesome Kong finally said something about them on Twitter, and it adds a lot to this whole story and may totally squash it completely.

That certainly sheds a lot of light on things, and may mean that whomever is running that Instagram is connecting it to her Twitter without her knowledge. With that being said, it seems as if Kharma/Awesome Kong isn’t necessarily heading back to WWE, or at least not at this time.

Her original run with WWE began in 2010, and it wasn’t very successful. She debuted in April of 2011, but was only on camera for about a month until she found out she was pregnant and written off of TV until January of 2012.

She appeared in the Royal Rumble in 2012, and it was her only official match for WWE as she parted ways with the company in July of that year. Awesome Long has since let it be known that she was interested in returning to WWE, but it obviously has not happened.

Bleacher Report has taken this and run with it, as they believe Awesome Kong is the heel that the Divas division in WWE needs right now. That’s quite true and she would likely fit in well with Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Paige, and others.

Sure, Kharma has a much different style, but the variation would be nice.

For now, Awesome Kong is a free agent who was just released by TNA within the last month, but there’s no true sign that she will be returning to WWE. Yes, there could be discussions or plans, but nothing from the Instagram posts appear to have brought any truth to the matter.
