WWE News: WWE Signs New Japan Pro Wrestling Star Shinsuke Nakamura?

WWE NXT is the hottest product in all of professional wrestling, and it’s really not all that close. WWE Raw is battling a case of the Mondays almost every week. Ratings are down and popularity is dropping with it. Yet, they are still profitable. Hopefully, WWE officials realize what is more important and adjust accordingly. Impact Wrestling is fighting their own battles and Ring of Honor just doesn’t have the budget the WWE does to compete consistently.

WWE NXT’s wrestling is arguably the best. Their budget matches the quality of product being booked. Plus, the talent is passionate and hungry to become the best in the world. Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe are only three of their biggest stars. Bayley, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan also control their own division’s popularity. In just night, everything changed.

When I say things changed, that should be taken very seriously. What was announced tonight could mirror the debut of the Nexus on WWE television. Their impact on the ringside area, Justin Roberts and John Cena will never be forgotten. It’s as impactful as Finn Balor’s first entrance as the Demon. On top of it all, it could be as important as Mick Foley’s WWE championship win 17 years ago today.

Dave Meltzer has done it again and in a big way. According to Wreslte Chat and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, New Japan Pro Wrestling legend Shinsuke Nakamura has reportedly signed a contract with WWE NXT.

“Meltzer states that WWE was hoping to keep this story under wraps, but with news that all four talents gave their notice at last nights WrestleKingdom event, it was difficult to contain the whispers.”

“The contracts for Nakamura, Gallows, and Anderson expire at the end of the month, whereas Styles has been working without a contract.”

As for the other three names in that report, AJ Styles, Doc Gallows, and Karl Anderson have also signed WWE contracts, per Meltzer. There’s no official word as to when they’ll arrive at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Gallows, Anderson and Styles are apart of the Bullet Club. If anyone knows international wrestling, that stable immediately comes to mind.

Finn Balor was a member of the Bullet Club during his time in NJPW, but left for the WWE last year. With this potential signing by Triple H, they have created unlimited possibilities for multiple WWE talents. Before that is elaborated on, one must know who the big star possibly coming is. Shinsuke Nakamura is the “King of Strong Style.” Many talents like Daniel Bryan and CM Punk took what Nakamura started and utilized it in the WWE.

Fan Sided published a great summary of who Nakamura really is following his victory at Wrestle Kingdom 10.

“Nakamura is a multiple world champion and has helped make the IWGP Intercontinental Championship as prestigious as the world championship. Before Nakamura won the Intercontinental Championship the belt was looking like it would be a bust title. However, Nakamura made the belt his own, changing the strap to white and putting on classic matches defending the belt.”

His name is synonymous with New Japan Pro Wrestling. He uses a lot of kicks, knees to the face and a myriad of strikes that Bryan and Punk would be jealous of. Along with the other three men, this nearly guarantees WWE NXT to be the best wrestling brand on the planet. Their talent can out-wrestle anyone on the planet. Shinsuke Nakamura will be the center-fold of WWE NXT and perhaps, the entire WWE.
