Viewers can watch the Clemson vs. UNC football game live online and see which team wins the ACC championship, and whether one of them can sneak into the College Football Playoff bracket.
The teams kick off Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, with television coverage from ABC. The game will also be available on the internet, with live streaming video through ESPN (link below).
For the Tigers, the game is the last chance to hold onto the No. 1 spot before the College Football Playoff bracket is set, and they’ll run into a No. 8 North Carolina team that can score so quickly — and in so many different ways — that it’s already giving Tigers defensive coordinator Brent Venables fits.
“It’s ‘How you like this play? How about this play? How about that score?” Venables said Tuesday (via ESPN). “First play of the Duke game, it’s all jacked up, in-state rivalry, then they run the flea flicker. Touchdown, 80 yards.”
The Tar Heels seem to have borrowed some offensive mojo from the school’s basketball team, as they’ve been running the field and scoring at a clip more common for the hardwood. North Carolina is averaging just a shade under 496 yards a game and is averaging 41.3 points per game.

In fact, fans who watch the Clemson vs. UNC football game live online could see two teams fighting for a place in the College Football Playoff rankings. Though North Carolina is behind other on-the-bubble teams like Michigan State and Notre Dame, a win over the No.1 team in the country could be enough to catapult them into a playoff spot.
Granted, it would still be difficult for North Carolina to make the playoffs. Even with a hypothetical win over Clemson, they still have a loss to South Carolina (3-9) and needed a 21-point comeback to beat Georgia Tech (3-9).
UNC coach Larry Fedora thinks the past shouldn’t matter that much. Win on Saturday, and they should be in, Fedora said.
“If we beat the No. 1 team in the country, which Clemson is the No. 1 team in the country, and it’s a consensus No. 1, and they’ve been No. 1 for a long time, I believe that if that happens, our team is deserving, yes,” Fedora said (via CBS Sports).
He could be right. A win — no matter how ugly it might be — would erase the South Carolina loss from the minds of many. It would also allow the College Football Playoff to insert a team on the rise, instead of allowing a team like Notre Dame to back their way in despite ending the season on a sour note.
The Tar Heels are ending the season far from where they began. After a 6-7 campaign last year and the season-opening loss to South Carolina, many expected them to hang near the bottom of the ACC. Instead North Carolina has reeled off 11 straight wins — a school record — and is on the doorstep of their first ACC title since 1980.
So what happens to the College Football Playoff bracket if North Carolina does somehow win? It will likely make for a tense 12 hours before the final standings are announced, and will also depend largely on the Big Ten title game between Iowa and Michigan State, where the winner is in and (most likely) the loser is out.
