Details On Justin Blackmon DUI Emerge

Justin Blackmon, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ first-round NFL draft pick, was arrested for drunk driving late Sunday night. Despite blowing a .24 and a .26 on his breathalyzer test, the newest member of the Jaguars plead not guilty to DUI charges.

The NFL Network reports that Blackmon was “argumentative” with police when he was pulled over. Apparently, Blackmon was tailed by police for more than four blocks before he pulled over to the side of the road. When he did, he was upset with the officers for “harassing” him.

Blackmon said:

“I just flew in. I don’t know why you are harassing me.”

Jacksonville.com reports that a hearing has been set for July 24th.

The Jaguar is expected to head to Jacksonville today for off-season conditioning drills. He will likely to hold a press conference later this week.

NFL.com reports that the Jaguars are currently making a push to sell season tickets and Blackmon was scheduled to appear at event on Friday. It’s unclear if Blackmon is still invited to the invite but his relationship with the Jaguars is definitely not off to a good start.

According to the website, the Jaguars may not offer Blackmon a fully guaranteed contract like Patrick Peterson, last year’s No.5 overall pick, received.

But a guaranteed contract may not be on Blackmon’s mind at the moment. According to Payne County District Attorney Tom Lee, Blackmon will not be able to plea to a lesser charge. Lee said that Oklahoma law requires people who score 0.15 or higher on their breathalyzer test to be charged with aggravated DUI. The District Attorney said that Blackmon will either accept aggravated DUI charges or will face trial.

The Inquisitr reported earlier that this is the second time that Blackmon has been arrested for a DUI. In 2010, he was arrested for speeding and suspicion of DUI. The charge was lessened to a minor in possession of beer, and Blackmon received fined.
