‘WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn’ WWE Network Results — Updated LIVE!

On Saturday, August 22, 2015, WWE will present WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, live at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. For those who are unable to attend it live, it will be available for viewing exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network.

However, the Inquisitr understands not everyone in the WWE Universe (or wrestling community in general) will be able to spend three hours to watch WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. Therefore, results will be presented live as they become available.

Similar to past WWE pay-per-views, the WWE is providing one courtesy to those who do not have a paid subscription to the WWE Network. Thirty minutes before the special event, WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn Pre-Show will take place, which will include a panel of WWE personalities and commentators consisting of Renee Young, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, and WWE Hall of Famer Lita discussing the matches in WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. It can be viewed not only on the WWE Network, but also on WWE’s official website, WWE App, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Pheed, and Pinterest one hour before the actual pay-per-view.

Prior to this, the Inquisitr reported on the latest news leading up to WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, which may or may not assist in fan predictions on what will take place.

  • It was believed that Samoa Joe would face off against an ECW Original (Rhyno) at the event, but it is now Baron Corbin.
  • Hideo Itami is teased to make his return to action after taking time off for a shoulder injury.
  • Kevin Owens might potentially win back the NXT Championship, which will make him the first wrestler to hold it more than just once.

Nevertheless, the following match card shown below is what is provided at this moment, and can change for any reason. It should also be noted that four of the ten matches are taped to broadcast on a future episode of NXT and will not be covered below. Besides that, the Inquisitr will update this article with the latest results as they become available live!

Apollo Crews vs. Tye Dillinger — Crews is making his debut at a major event while Dillinger is now showing off a new gimmick which seems to be picking up with fans now that he is known as the “Perfect 10.” Usually, the debuting wrestler would win at such an event, especially one with as much promotion as Crews. However, the fact that Jushin Thunder Liger is also making his debut too, I am unsure if Crews will win. To be frank though, Liger already has enough exposure and fanfare that a loss won’t hurt him. Therefore, it is likely Crews will win this match.

RESULT: Apollo Crews defeats Tye Dillenger via pinfall with a Gorilla Press/Standing Moonsault Combination.

Baron Corbin vs. Samoa Joe — One unstoppable force meets another unstoppable force in this match. I will say that Corbin probably has the advantage given the fact he stopped both Bull Dempsey and Rhyno (two guys who were also considered unstoppable) at past NXT specials. If this match is about pushing younger talent though, Corbin will win. How he wins though is the wild card.

RESULT: Samoa Joe defeats Baron Corbin via submission with the Coquina Clutch.

Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Tyler Breeze — This is a match that Breeze needs to win. I personally like Breeze as a wrestler and entertainer but he needs to get the ball rolling to finally jump to the main roster. Take note: he’s been in WWE developmental since 2010 when NXT was FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling). That is a very long time to be in “development.” Defeating Liger, a decorated wrestler for decades, will help him. Still, Liger could win solely on the fact that it is his debut.

RESULT: Jushin Thunder Liger defeats Tyler Breeze via pinfall with a Running Liger Bomb.

Team BAM vs. The Vaudevillains (NXT Tag Team Championship) — It is possible that The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) will win this one given the length Team BAM (Blake and Murphy) have held the NXT Tag Team Championship. The wildcard will be the third member of Team BAM, Alexa Bliss. Her interference helped “her boys” retain the titles when they wrestled Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy, so she may do so again.

RESULT: The Vaudevillains defeat Team BAM via pinfall with the Whirling Dervish on Blake to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions.

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley (NXT Women’s Championship) — This may be Banks’s last night in NXT along with Becky Lynch and Charlotte. With new female wrestlers coming up from the WWE Performance Center, it is time to rotate them in while rotating older talent out. This makes sense for Banks, Lynch, and Charlotte since they are full-time on the main roster. I think Banks will drop the title to Bayley tonight to be solely on the main roster from now on.

RESULT: Bayley defeats Sasha Banks via pinfall with the Bayley-to-Belly Suplex to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.

Finn Bálor vs. Kevin Owens (NXT Championship Ladder Match) — I am thinking tonight is Owens’s last night in NXT too. Just like Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte, Owens is full-time on the main roster. It is a lot of work to be working on WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown! and in NXT. Therefore, the rematch he is having against Bálor is probably for story. However, I don’t think he will win.

RESULT: Finn Balor climbs the ladder and attains the NXT Championship to remain NXT Champion.
