Ronda Rousey Vs. ‘Cyborg’ Finally Happening? Tito Ortiz Says That ‘Cyborg’ Is Doing ‘Everything Possible’ To Make The Super-Fight Happen

Ronda Rousey is by far the most dominant female athlete in the history of combat sports, and, she’s clearly the most dominant fighter in the UFC. Only one of her last four fights has lasted over one minute, and since her MMA debut in 2011, Miesha Tate is the only one of Rousey’s opponents to make it out of the first round, as she lasted until the third round, where she, like most of Rousey’s other opponents, got caught in an armbar and was forced to tap out.

During Rousey’s reign at the top of the women’s bantamweight division, there has been only one opponent that MMA fans want to see her face, and that’s Cris “Cyborg” Justino. In the past, there have been a number of things that have stopped the fight from happening. One of them is that Cyborg isn’t in the UFC, and the other is that “Cyborg” is in a heavier weight-class than Rousey, and she’s never been confident that she can make the cut down to 135 pounds.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, current Bellator light heavyweight, and Cyborg’s manager Tito Ortiz is saying that his client is now doing everything she can to lose weight, so she can be able to comfortably cut down to 135 pounds for a fight with Ronda Rousey.

“Cris is jumping through every single flamed hoop that everybody is asking her to do, and she’s trying to get down to 135. Realistically, 140 is still a challenge for her to get down that low. She’s gonna try. She’s doing everything possible and it seems like Ronda is doing zero possible. She’s just sitting back and collecting her checks.”

Cyborg tweeted out on Saturday night following Ronda Rousey’s 34-second KO victory of Bethe Correia that her next fight will be at 140 pounds, and after that, she plans on making the cut to 135 pounds so “the most violent fight in history can take place.”

Following this past Saturday’s UFC 190, UFC president Dana White said that a fight between Cris “Cyborg” and Ronda Rousey would shatter the UFC’s previous pay-per-view record of 1.6 million buys, and do 2.5 million buys. Some people may roll their eyes at that number, but Dana White is a promoter, so he’s just doing his job.

If Cris Cyborg ends up being able to cut down to 135, the fight with Rousey probably won’t happen until next summer, possibly at UFC 200, as Rousey is set to take on Miesha Tate for the third time, which is a fight that may take place in December at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, where Tate vs. Rousey will co-headline with Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor.
