WWE News: ‘WWE Smackdown’ To Be Booked Comparable To ‘WWE Raw’ In 2016?

This may sound rough, but the interest for WWE Smackdown isn’t necessarily at an all-time high. WWE superstars who are on Smackdown put on very good matches, but it doesn’t seem like the WWE puts in as much effort as they do for WWE Raw. That’s no criticism to the WWE officials, but Smackdown hasn’t been necessarily relevant since 2010.

However, there may be a changing of the guard. The first sign is that Jerry Lawler hinted at Smackdown going live months back. Lawler, the WWE legend, has been on the Smackdown announce team for months now and is said to like that schedule much better. That, and it’s less pressure, due to it being a taped show.

WWE Smackdown will go on the USA Network in 2016. There is no confirmation if the WWE’s second show will go live, but perhaps it will when WWE officials give it as much attention as they do WWE Raw. According to Daily Wrestling News,WWE Smackdown might get a new look when the USA Network move is official.

However, there has been talk of debuting SmackDown on USA with a live Tuesday night special.

Once SmackDown is moved to the USA Network next year it will likely be booked as a “all hands on-deck” show, comparable to RAW.

In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, this rumor has been going on since April, which gives WWE fans hope for the future of WWE Smackdown. Currently, the WWE is in need of a draft. WWE stars like Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Neville, Stardust, Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt are all in need of a new start on the other program.

WWE Raw is clogged up and it will continue when WWE NXT stars come up to the main roster. WWE doesn’t blatantly ignore top talents, despite what people in the Internet Wrestling Community believe. Even Cesaro is getting his time to main event shows.

A similar situation took place during the Attitude Era. Mick Foley, the Rock, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker, Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin all wrestled primarily around the same time. There were stars filtered in too, but the WWE had to give them their time to shine.

It’s truly a blessing in disguise, because WWE has all the talent in the world and it will continue to show. Just in the past few months, Neville and Kevin Owens proved themselves to be top talent. All they need is a chance. Even the WWE NXT women are getting their shot. With WWE Smackdown coming to the USA Network, another draft and brand split may be a possibility.
