Fans of the Subcontinent brand of cricket can watch live online as Pakistan and Sri Lanka fight to break the deadlock in their five-match ODI series, when the two teams meet to contest the Third One Day International of the Pakistan tour, which began more than a month ago with the first of two Test matches, a series split by the two nations.
After Pakistan appeared unbeatable, cruising to a six-wicket victory in the First ODI on July 11, Sri Lanka rallied to chase down 288 for a thrilling victory with only two wickets and 11 balls remaining.
To find out how to watch the Sri Lanka vs. Pakistan Third ODI live online from R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, see the information and streaming links at the bottom of this article. The match is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. local time in Sri Lanka on Sunday, July 19, which is 5 a.m. United States Eastern Time, 2 a.m. Pacific.
Suddenly, the momentum appears to be with the hosts, as not only has Pakistan lost the last game, but the team’s top spinner, all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, was hit with a one-year ban from bowling this week, due to what officials judged to be an illegal bowling motion.
In the First ODI, it was Hafeez who led the way for Pakistan, suffocating Sri Lanka by taking four wickets for only 41 runs.
“It’s sad for us, but we’ll have to change our plans,” said Pakistan ODI Captain Azhar Ali. “We’re looking at a few different team combinations.”
“It’s going to be a negative for Pakistan, but we can’t be complacent,” cautioned Sri Lanka Skipper Angelo Matthews.
Of course, Hafeez also posted a century as a batsman in the First ODI, and the ban does not affect his batting.
Pakistan currently rank ninth in the ICC world rankings for ODI sides, and they need to win at least three of the five matches in the series to have a chance at qualifying for the coveted Champions Trophy, to be contested next in 2017.
