Tiger Woods’ Game Improves Despite Cheating Allegations

Though he didn’t leave this weekend’s Greenbrier Classic with a trophy, his golf game is looking up, despite the headlines in the press concerning his break-up with skier Lindsey Vonn, and his alleged part in the demise of golfer Jason Dufner’s marriage to Amanda Boyd.

As reported earlier this week in the Inquisitr, Tiger Woods was even being heckled at the Greenbrier Classic by an observer that yelled “Lindsey Vonn!” just as woods made contact with the ball. Then the same man yelled a curse word at the golfer.

But this current public airing of his dirty laundry doesn’t compare with what has come to light in the past. When Tiger Woods’ marriage with his now ex Elin imploded, women went to the press by the dozens to tell their stories of stepping out with Woods. Perhaps that’s why he doesn’t seem rattled, and his golf game is actually improving.

Though he didn’t even finish in the top 25, ESPN reported that Tiger Woods left Greenbrier with renewed confidence and a smile on his face.

“I played really well today,” Woods said. “This could have been one of those special rounds. It’s the best I’ve hit it in a very long time. I had full control over all clubs. ”

The only thing Woods acknowledged that needed a bit of work was his putting, which ESPN said wasn’t bad, but the shots weren’t going in.

“I just need to make some putts,” he said. “Today was just one of those days. The putts that I read perfectly, I hit right, they still lipped out.”

After the Greenbrier Classic wrapped up, Tiger Woods had his best round of 2015. CBS Sports reported that Woods has not played this well since August of 2013. They observed that Woods “struck the ball incredibly well this week. If he had putted as well as he hit, he would have been a contender.”

From here, Tiger Woods takes his clubs and baggage onto Scotland and St. Andrews for the British Open. Golf and Tiger watchers says that though they don’t think he has a chance of winning, he is finally headed in the right direction if he wants to reclaim his place as the world’s top golfer.
