Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad feeling pressure from President Barack Obama and Israel announced on Sunday that his country will not pay attention to threats of action against them.
In a televised speech on state TV Ahmadinejad said:
“The Iranian nation will not give a damn for [your] bombs, warships, and planes.”
Then taking a shot at President Obama he added:
“They say all [options] are on the table. Well, let them rot there. You yourself will rot.”
The rather personal attack against the US President comes at a time when five permanent UN Security Council members and representatives from Germany are said to be on the verge of talks with Tehran that would open up the doors to discuss the regions controversial nuclear ambitions.
In defending his country regarding economic sanctions imposed by the West the Iranian President added:
“There are no acute problems in the country and its economic pillars are strong. It is a psychological war.”
Not one to leave Israel out of the attack equation Mahmoud Ahmadinejad added that Israel’s supporters:
“Do not think that just because idiot leaders of regional countries support you, you will cement your basis in the region.”
Iran’s economy is based 80% on oil exports and the US and its allies have threatened to cut off purchases to the country which would most definitely cripple the region regardless of what Ahmadinejad might tout to his people.
Do you think President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s message on state TV was nothing more than fear mongering geared towards his people during a desperate time in Iran’s history.
