2015 Dodge Hellcat Challenger For Sale Via Auction, Price Doubles As HEMI Muscle Car’s Orders Are Suspended

Finding a 2015 Dodge Hellcat Challenger for sale is proving to be a challenge for many, especially now that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has suspended orders for them. This has led to the Dodge Hellcat price skyrocketing, and now the new 707-horsepower muscle car is going to be on TV as part of an auction.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, part of the reason the Dodge Hellcat price is so attractive is that it’s the best engine power to dollar ratio on the market. Just don’t tell that to the Dodge Hellcat Challenger owner who wrecked his muscle car beyond repair only an hour after purchasing it.

Unfortunately, when the auto company suspended both the Dodge Hellcat Charger SRT and Hellcat Challenger SRT, they did not provide a time frame for the new release of future inventory.

“Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats, we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system,” the company said in a statement.

There was a rumor last year that the number of 2015 Dodge Hellcats being produced would be limited to only 1,200 vehicles, but the company says that idea is completely false. Gualberto Ranieri, FCA US senior vice president of communications, noted that some dealers were ordering more of the Dodge Hellcat than actually necessary.

“Dodge dealers will receive Hellcat scheduling based on their total Dodge sales in the previous 90 days with verified customer sold orders,” Ranieri said, according to USA Today. “An isolated number of dealers have taken a far greater number of orders than they could reasonably expect to fulfill under the above allocation system.”

The dealers who do have a Dodge Hellcat in stock are also playing other types of games. The Dodge Hellcat price is sometimes raised 50 percent over the $60,995 coupe, pushing the final list prices into the six figures.

If you are really desperate to find a 2015 Dodge Hellcat for sale, there’s probably going to be only one option in the short term. The upcoming Mecum Auctions event in Houston will be televised on April 10, and one of the main features will be a Dodge Challenger with the Phantom Black Pearl paint job. It also has the 6-speed manual transmission and the optional navigation system.

The official price on the window sticker for this particular 2015 Dodge Hellcat auction is $63,070, but already everyone is expecting the price to skyrocket quickly. There’s also an undisclosed reserve price. If you don’t happen to win that auction, there’s also a 1970 383 R/T Special Edition Challenger, but for most Dodge fans there probably isn’t a comparison.
