WWE News: Daniel Bryan ‘Thrilled’ To Be Taking Part In Intercontinental Title Match At ‘WrestleMania’

At this time last year, Daniel Bryan was having the biggest and most successful run of his wrestling career. WWE was finally giving its fans what they had been wanting for roughly eight months, and Bryan seemed like — and was — the hottest superstar in the entire company. Now, well, not so much, as he’s been marginalized since his in-ring return to WWE in January, and is now taking place in a multi-man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.

Daniel Bryan has always done everything WWE has asked him to do, even when it would seem that it isn’t the best thing for him. He’s also never been one to complain about his position in the company, even when it’s been completely obvious that he should be — at least — the number two babyface in WWE.

Bryan continued being an optimist in an interview with IGN, where he said that he would “be thrilled” to be in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania, and during last night’s SmackDown, Bryan was officially added to the match.

“I’d be thrilled. I’d love it. To me, right now, the Intercontinental Title stuff is some of the funnest stuff on television. As far as the WWE goes and the stories. You have a lot of skilled performers who are getting to be in it, and going back to the thing we said before, about reaching different demographics, R-Truth has been hilarious during this whole thing. Like, trying to constantly steal the Intercontinental Championship and all that kind of stuff. And when you’re in a ladder match with a bunch of other people, it’s different than everything else on the show. So you really have the chance to go out there and not only be highlighted, but also actually steal the show.”

Many WWE fans had predicted that, if Bryan wasn’t going to be involved in the main-event at WrestleMania, that he was going to be taking on the returning Sheamus. Now, it looks like WWE is going to wait until after WrestleMania to bring Sheamus back, unless he’s a surprise competitor in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

As of right now, Bryan is one of the favorites to win the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania. The majority of WWE fans believe that it will either be Daniel Bryan or Dean Ambrose who walks out of WrestleMania as the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
