Cleveland Browns New Logo: Leaked Pictures, Details Indicate A Tribute To Paul Brown

The Cleveland Browns will be unveiling a new logo this week, but leaked photos and details from a supposed insider are already shedding details on what could be a tribute to the team’s past.

The team notified the leaders of its Browns Backers clubs last week that they would be launching a new primary logo on Tuesday, February 24. The letter had no further details, but in the time since then, some insiders have filled in the blanks of what the new Cleveland Browns logo would look like.

A poster to the Cleveland Browns board on Reddit claimed that he works at a location that received a shipment of the new team merchandise a day early “to beat a blizzard coming.”

The poster shared some juicy details on the new Cleveland Browns logo, including a nod to the team’s first coach Paul Brown.

“The first is a lighter than we’re used to Brown block C With a white outline. It’s pretty straight forward.

“The second is the new helmet. It’s a darker orange with a broad Brown stripe bordered in white with what looks like little hats in the stripe like Seattle’s wing pattern. Brown facemask too.

“The final one is my favorite and if I had to guess, is bet it’s the new primary logo. It’s a sillouhette of a man from shoulders up wearing a derby hat but his chin is to his chest and the hat’s brim covers all but his chin and a smirk. His hat is brown with a orange stripe. His coat is orange and his tie is brown.

“I think it’s Paul Brown and they can’t show his face because of his son that owns the Bengals. But it’s seriously bad a**.”

This isn’t the first time that details of the new look have showed up on Reddit. One user shared what appeared to be a leaked photo of the new Cleveland Browns logo, showing the iconic Dawg Pound dog. This one came from artist Fraser Davidson, who has worked with Nike on some college branding efforts.

Cleveland Browns New Logo: Details And Possible Design Leak Ahead Of Official Announcement

And Cleveland radio station 92.3 The Fan already shared some details of what would not be included.

“While the logo itself is being closely guarded prior to the reveal, multiple sources have told 92.3 The Fan that the new logo will not incorporate the iconic ‘Brownie’ elf logo that was used by the franchise in the 1950s and 1960s in any way. In keeping with a promise made to former owner Randy Lerner as a condition of sale in 2012, the new logo will not adorn the helmet.”

The Cleveland Browns will unveil the new logo on Tuesday.
