Google Unveils Google Sync For iPhone and Windows Mobile

Google Sync: iPhone and Windows MobileGoogle has announced new beta versions of its Google Sync utility with support for the iPhone and for Windows Mobile devices.

Google Sync lets you synchronize your Gmail contacts and calendar data with your phone. Once installed, it’ll keep your phone up-to-date with regular over-the-air synchronization. Google says any changes made within Gmail will be reflected on the devices “in minutes,” and because of the connection’s background processing, you’ll never have to perform a manual sync. Synchronization is also performed continuously from the device back to Gmail.

Along with today’s new iPhone and Windows Mobile utilities, Google is also releasing a Sync edition for phones supporting SyncML. That version will work only for contact synchronization.

Google Sync was previously available for BlackBerry devices.
