Mobissimo Introduces Social Recommendations, Proximity, and Travel Community

Travel search engine Mobissimo has teamed with Thingfo to launch MobiFriends, a new travel related collaborative community.

MobiFriends allows travelers to connect with friends, colleagues, and family, as well as other travelers. Users can see who from their network is in the same town during a visit or read trusted recommendations for favorite restaurants, hotels, activities, and entertainment spots. Travelers can share their own favorites for every city they’ve visited with their Mobifriends social network via a widget located on the user’s dashboard and search results page.

By crowdsourcing the review process and linking those reviews social networking style, Mobissimo aims to allow travelers to make more informed decisions based on the trusted opinions of their friends.

MobiFriends supports Twitter updating and users can connect via support for Gmail, Yahoo Mail, MSN Hotmail, Facebook, Hi5, and others.
