WWE TLC Results: Roman Reigns Returns, Brock Lesnar Vs. Seth Rollins Will Require Money In The Bank

The WWE TLC results are in, and Roman Reigns officially changed the fate of the Brock Lesnar Vs. Seth Rollins match, requiring that Money in the Bank to be needed.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, Paul Levesque has declared the possibility of Sting vs. Triple H at WrestleMania 31 to be “epic,” but many fans would rather see The Undertaker in the ring with the WCW legend. Roman Reigns’ return is officially set to be at future showing of WWE SmackDown that’s coming up fairly soon.

From the beginning of the WWE TLC match between John Cena and Seth Rollins, it was apparent the latter wrestler would use every dirty trick possible in order to secure a win. Rollins sicked his security on Cena in an attempt to tire out Brock Lesnar’s number one contender, and even knocked out the referee so Rollins would not lose early on.

The interesting part came when both Cena and Rollins simultaneously plummeted into a table and the referees had their own little NFL play review moment. The referees couldn’t decide who hit, with both men’s arm being raised as the winner, but eventually the ref opted to go by the principle of WWVD (What Would Vince Do). This resulted in match restart with no winner declared.

By the end of the match, it seemed certain John Cena would rise as the winner, but then the Big Show interrupted in favor of Seth Rollins. Cena’s loss seemed pretty much certain when Roman Reigns’ music began to play and he emerged from the crowd (so much for the rumor that he would be avoid that practice from now). Several superman punches later, Reigns managed to land Rollins in Cena’s arms and through the table goes the traitorous former member of The Shield.

Despite representing Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman was uncharacteristically quiet during the entire match. Cena and Heyman exchanged looks at the conclusion of the match but otherwise nothing was said verbally that was caught on the microphones. So if Brock Lesnar’s schedule is going to get an update, then there’s very little information available, although we do know he’s scheduled for several Monday Night RAW shows, and it’s been reported that Lesnar’s WWE contract has already been extended beyond WrestleMania 31. (So, yes, that does put to bed any rumors about Lesnar’s return to the UFC.)

Roman Reigns Brock Lesnar

Unfortunately, because of Roman Reigns’ return, this means John Cena is destined to take on Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble 2015. This WWE TLC result is also disappointing since it would have been more interesting to have two potential contenders for the WWE Heavyweight Championship belt. It might have even opened up the potential for a WWE triple threat match for determining the new WWE champion.

This WWE TLC result was also fairly predictable since if Seth Rollins had been scheduled to take on Brock Lesnar for the championship title, then his Money in the Bank contract would have been effectively useless… at first glance. WWE Creative really missed out on a potential change to plans since if Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins had taken place, then it would have allowed Rollins to use yet another dirty trick.

The WWE Universe knows that John Cena has been steamrolled the last couple matches by Brock Lesnar, so it would seem that Rollins would be an unlikely winner. Rollins could have purposefully earned a disqualification by beating the tar out of Lesnar with some sort of weapon, or by bringing in his security team, and then the Money in the Bank contract could have been cashed so Rollins could immediately take advantage over Lesnar for the belt. Of course, that scenarios seems unlikely to happen since Roman Reigns is supposedly the “anointed one” destined to take out Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.

Would you like to see Seth Rollins attempt to take out Brock Lesnar in a match based upon dirty tricks? Or do you think Roman Reigns or John Cena deserve the belt?
