WWE News: ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage And Sting Set To Headline 2015 WWE Hall of Fame

WWE has had some of the most talented pro-wrestlers in the world wrestle for them. WWE fans have been lucky to see all of these men in their prime at at least one point or another. So it’s great to see WWE induct deserving men into their WWE Hall of Fame each year, the night before WrestleMania.

Both the “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Sting deserve every Pro-Wrestling Hall of Fame that there is according to many fans, and rightfully so. Both men are legends and are two of the greatest pro-wrestlers who ever lived. Sadly, instances have hindered their induction into the hall. For Randy, it was a certain level of issues he had with WWE and rumors that it seemed couldn’t be shaken off.

Savage and WWE were in talks before he passed away, as he did promotion for a video game they were doing that featured the legends of WWE. He was a private man and re-married. Sadly due to a heart issue that led to a car crash, Savage left this world too soon. Due to this, the name rights were left to Lanny Poffo, Randy’s brother. He and his father were also pro-wrestlers. While Angelo Poffo was considered a territorial day legend, Randy was the star of the family. Lanny claimed however that after the entire Von Erich family went on, he wanted his entire family to do in together as well.

Randy Savage

Due to this, there have been issues in getting Randy into the Hall. However, due to the new Savage DVD and WWE trying to make things up to the Poffo family, it appears that Randy will go in.

Meanwhile, Sting has never wrestled under the WWE banner. Sting stated in various interviews that he has been close to signing with WWE numerous times, but a need was always met where he was. So he never wanted to jump due to this. Now Sting is technically part of WWE, and as a result many feel he will wrestle at least one match for the WWE fans. It is something Sting wants to do very much and obviously there are fans who want to see it. Who his opponent will be is up in the air, although the dream match for many has been Undertaker/Sting for years now.

Despite this, WWE wants to induct Sting into their Hall of Fame. While he has never appeared on live WWE programming outside the WWE Network, he will probably have done so by the time he enters the WWE Hall of Fame. That said, it would technically work for WWE purists who only want those who worked for WWE to be in.

Sting WWE

According to the Wrestling Observer both Sting and Savage are potential headliners for the WWE Hall of Fame. We know one or both will be in. Sting is the obvious choice, due to WrestleMania taking place in California. This happens to be Sting’s home state. However, due to the numerous Savage related material WWE is getting out, it would appear that he would also go in.

That would make the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class a pretty significant one. Usually WWE tends to put one big name in to headline the event. However, since Savage is no longer around to speak at the ceremony, despite the name, he wouldn’t fit as a headliner. Sting would certainly work, as he is a massive name in the pro-wrestling industry and is alive to speak at the ceremony.

That said, it could be a co-headlining sort of thing. Both men deserve it for their work in the pro-wrestling business. WWE would be lucky to have both men go into the WWE Hall of Fame. Fans obviously will be happy about it too.
