WWE: Daniel Bryan Return Possible For Royal Rumble? Second Surgery Not Certain

Daniel Bryan’s return to the WWE may occur a little earlier than expected since the wrestler is already talking about a January time frame, which would allow him to attend Royal Rumble 2015, assuming his full strength has returned by then. In addition, it seems the reports of a second surgery for his arm injury may not come true.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, there’s also been a big update on Roman Reigns’ return to the WWE, and he already has multiple wrestling match dates listed for 2015.

Recently, Daniel Bryan promoted this past weekend’s WrestleMania 31 ticket sale festivities where they pre-sold the tickets, and he was interviewed by Comcast Sports Net Bay Area. At first, they discussed how Hunter Pence had “borrowed” the “Yes!” chant used by fans, and Bryan laughed before he responded.

“Borrowed? He outright stole it!,” exclaimed Bryan. “Yea, he actually… it was funny when I first met him it was at the Nationals game and he was like, ‘I hope you aren’t mad I’m doing your Yes Movement thing.’ No, actually, I think it’s great! How he actually stumbled upon it I’m not actually sure. I think he saw one of the Michigan State football team members, got the whole thing going at a Michigan state basketball team, and he thought it was awesome, just the whole positive message, fan interaction, and getting the fans behind one common cause. He just started doing it, the people of San Francisco loved it, and it just caught on.”

The idea that Daniel Bryan would definitely be getting Tommy John Surgery for his injured elbow was started when the Big Show claimed that Bryan was scheduled for a second surgery during a Smackdown taping last month. The interviewer directly asked Bryan when he was going to be in the ring, and the answer might be both disheartening and hopeful to the Yes Movement.

“Yeah, I’m not actually sure. Nobody really knows when I will be back. I’m hoping to be back in January, and be ready for WrestleMania here at Levi Stadium, but there’s no way to know. Right now there’s contemplation of doing a second surgery to my elbow, but we just don’t really know. We’re just doing the best to get me back and healthy…. I had my [last] surgery on May 17, maybe 15th.”

Daniel Bryan ended his interview by getting a bunch of Giants fans involved in the “Yes!” chant. Hopefully, come January, WWE fans will be doing the same.
