WWE News: Legendary Announcer Jim Ross Returning To Pro Wrestling?

Jim Ross is arguably the best professional wrestling announcer in history, due to his time with the WWE. His phrases are still used in memes, gifs and other videos of that kind today. Even non-professional wrestling fans know who Ross is for the way he makes a great moment even better on television. Ross called the match and focused on the moves and then elaborated on the story that was being told. For example, here is compilation made by a fan that depicts Ross’ exuberance behind the microphone that is easily universal.

Nobody can match Ross’ excitement and passion for the sport he covers. With the WWE, Ross interviewed stars and took nasty bumps. To focus more on the negative, Ross was also made fun of and embarrassed many times during his WWE career that spanned across a few different periods. A normal man wouldn’t have gone back to the WWE after what they did to him, but Ross was always a team player and still is.

Every Tuesday, Ross blogs about the WWE on his website, jrsbbq.com. He adds analysis and professional advice to certain superstars, segments and sometimes-even fantasy booking. To add on to his illustrious resume that started with WCW and ended with WWE, Ross is venturing into other projects. He already tried his craft in the boxing scene.

Jeff Jarrett of Global Force Wrestling just announced a new blockbuster addition to the team’s big event at “Wrestle Kingdom 9.” Jim Ross will be announcing the GFW/NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 9.

“NASHVILLE — Jim Ross, the preeminent voice of professional wrestling for the past four decades, has agreed to provide the play-by-play for Global Force Wrestling’s presentation of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s ‘Wrestle Kingdom 9’ live on pay per view in North America on Jan. 4, 2015.”

Ross had this to say about the new deal, “I am truly honored and excited to have been asked to be a part of this historic event,” Ross said. “To be able to return to my roots and to provide play by play for an amazing, pro wrestling product will be special. I never thought I’d ever return to ringside for a wrestling event but this opportunity was just too special to turn down.”

The Inquisitr previously reported a possibility that CM Punk and Ross could announce for Global Force Wrestling in the future. Since Punk is now writing for Marvel and a wrestling career is most-likely out of the question, Ross will be going over to Japan to announce GFW’s first event. This doesn’t mean Ross will be the solid play-by-play man for GFW, but it does mean that Ross is finally getting back into wrestling.

As for the WWE signing him again, that’s also unlikely. If I were you on January 4, sit back and relax while watching Jim Ross do his thing once again.
