Apple Upgrades Macbook Pro Lineup


Apple on Monday quietly upgraded their Macbook Pro line of notebooks, providing faster processors, better GPUs and larger hard drives in some of their models.

The now upgraded entry-level Macbook Pro features a 2.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 CPU while providing users with a 500GB 5400-rpm HDD for a cost of $1,199.

Buyers looking for more speed and more space can also pick up the 13-inch MacBook Pro which features a 2.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor and a 750GB HDD for just $1,499.

Buyers of the lower end 15-inch model in the meantime will receive a 2.2GHz processor with 500GB hard drive and a faster AMD Radeon HD 6750M discrete graphics card that offers 512MB of GDDR5. Apple is also offering a 15-inch unit with a 2.4GHz processor, 750GB HDD and an AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1GB of GDDR5.

Finally the company is offering several 17-inch model upgrades, the first of which features a 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with a 750GB hard drive and the AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1GB of GDDR5 with 4GB RAM at 1333MHz. Buyers can also pick up a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 unit if they throw in $250 more while RAM can be doubled to 8GB for an additional $200.

MacBook Pro buyers for all models can also switch their hard drives over to SSD which is offered up to 512GB for $1,200.
