Cristiano Ronaldo Not Moving To Manchester United, Will Retire With Real Madrid, Agent Says

Those who had hopes that Cristiano Ronaldo could be transferred to Manchester United had their wishes dashed by the football player’s agent. Jorge Mendes stated that the Portuguese striker would wear the Real Madrid shirt “until he’s 40-years-old.”

The statements come amid speculation that the current Ballon d’Or winner is thinking about moving to his former club at Old Trafford, where he played between 2003 and 2009. The rumors suggested Cristiano is not happy in Madrid, and wants to finish his career with the team that made him famous.

Mendes squashed speculation and dismissed the rumors about the superstar’s future, saying there are no plans on Ronaldo’s part to leave Los Blancos. In an interview with Cadena Cope, Ronaldo’s agent also talked about his client’s fitness level.

“He’s very happy at Real Madrid, it’s impossible to take Cristiano away from the club. We’ll never find another like him He’s getting better every day and will continue to improve until he gets to 40 years of age. Cristiano is happy at Real Madrid and always has been. He’s going to beat all records and will retire here.

“He still retains a special feeling for United as he spent six years there. Now he only has feelings for Real Madrid and wants to stay here forever, he’s extremely happy. One thing he has is respect for those people who remember him but his interest is with Madrid.”

Asked about offers he receives for Cristiano Ronaldo, Mendes says other clubs are wasting their time, as the striker will not even consider moving away from the Bernabeu. Mendes also spoke about the goals the 29-year-old has for the current season.

“Cristiano’s dream is to win another Champions League trophy. His dreams are always immediate. He has incredible drive and never fails to surprise. It’s impossible to find someone similar in the world of sport.”

After ending last season with “La Decima” — the 10th UEFA Champions League title for Real Madrid — a disappointing World Cup in Brazil sent Ronaldo home on the first round, and he was unable to lead his team to that elusive title. Even though the new season for Real Madrid started on a positive note when they won the UEFA Supercup, led by Cristiano, things didn’t look great once La Liga began its new season.

Los Blancos were adjusting to several changes, including new team members such as Colombian superstar James Rodriguez and Germany’s Toni Kroos. Later on, in a controversial move, Real Madrid transferred key player Angel DiMaria to Manchester United. After an adjustment period, it seems things are back to normal, and Cristiano Ronaldo is on his way to another record-breaking season at the Bernabeu.
