Women Say Men Have Lost Their Fashion Swagger


Men need to step up their style, according to a national survey conducted by GQ and Van Heusen to get the pulse of what women think about American men’s style today.

When it comes to dressing to impress, the survey found that men’s number one priority was a job interview and their second was dressing for a big meeting. Deciding what to wear on a first date came in third. Men would not even give importance to dressing just for meeting their girlfriend’s parents.

Most men (93%) are not even aware when it’s time for them to update their styles. Women even agreed (94%) that men need an upgrade in wardrobe.

Here are some more findings:

Men need to focus on choosing clothes that fit nicely;

Women said that “baggy pants” and “baggy shirts” are two of the biggest style mistakes that a guy can make;

Men feel they could use the most help in selecting business casual clothes; and

Women said that men could use the most help with selecting casual clothes.

The survey was held as part of the launch of the “Institute of Style,” a site intended to help American men get their style back by providing direction on how to dress appropriately.

The way the research went, it seems that men have lost their swagger when it comes to dressing. Men, it’s time to step up our game and reclaim the swag.
