Texas Man Uses Loophole To Buy Luxury Home For $16

Kenneth Robinson isn’t your typical house squatter, he didn’t break into his Texas home and he never has to leave, that’s because through a bit of courthouse magic he was able to buy his $300,000 residence for the ridiculously low cost of just $16.

According to KHOU-TV Kenneth found an abandoned home that the owner had walked away from and who’s mortgage company had went bankrupt and he filed a form at the courthouse that allowed him to take full possession of the home.

Mr. Robinson claimed the home in an unusual Texas process called adverse possession and he told the KHOU:

“This is not a normal process, but it is not a process that is not known,” while adding, “It’s just not known to everybody.”

In the meantime his neighbors were less than impressed with his tactic, with one neighbor noting:

“If he wants the house, buy the house like everyone else had to,” and. “Get the money, buy the house.”

Sounds like a bit of jealousy to me and let’s be honest, it’s better than the windows getting boarded up and house values in the neighborhood dropping.
