Ford Mustang Gets Revved Up For 2015

If you are in the market for a hot car, check out the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Some changes are being made that will make buyers take more than a second glance in the Mustang direction. It hasn’t been officially released, but a bit of inside scoop has leaked out about what buyers can expect in the 2015 model.

While the 2015 Mustang GT is not yet available, the folks at Whipple Superchargers have already created a 700 horsepower upgrade for this lean machine, according to Fox News. Speculation is that this most likely is being made possible because the “upgrade is designed for the 2015 Mustang GT, whose 5.0-liter V-8 is a carryover from the outgoing model,” reports MotorAuthority.com.

Developments and improvements are continuing to be made during the “creation” process of this built-on supercharger, which they claim will be easy to install, such as the promise of the release cold air intake and throttle body kits for the 2015 Mustang GT.

What has already been determined for this Ford Mustang GT upgrade, per CSMonitor.com, is a 2.9-liter twin-screw supercharger, which is reported to have 99 percent volumetric efficiency and is designed to be installed with minimum modification to the Mustang engine. The upgrade also includes an air-to-water intercooler, high-flow fuel injectors, a high flow intake and exhaust system, and retuning of the ECU.

Without the blower, DigitalTrends.com claims the 2015 Ford Mustang GT creates 420 horsepower. But if you add the Whipple Supercharger Kit, though, it revs it up to 700 horsepower. That is an increase of 280 horsepower, which is rather impressive.

MotorAuthority.com says that Ford claims its new Mustang GT will have roughly 420 horsepower on tap. This means that the creators at Whipple are making sure their Mustang supercharger will add 280 horsepower to the tally. However, Whipple wants Mustang lovers to know that their supercharger is not all about the peak power. Their “supercharger has a “discharge down” design that gives more power at lower boost levels and a relatively flat torque curve,” reports MotorAuthority.com. This is great news for the Mustang consumer because of the efficiency this will create, as it will consume less than a horsepower while you are cruising.

If a convertible Ford Mustang is what you are in the market for, then 2015 is your year and model to purchase. Many upgrades and changes have been made to make the 2015 Mustang convertible much better than the previous models. Forbes.com elaborates on the details of how Ford has vastly improved the structure making in stiffer and enhanced the Mustang’s suspension making for a much smoother ride.

Forbes.com also reports that changes have been made to the Mustang’s convertible top. Not only did Ford trade the Mustang’s cheap vinyl top for an extremely high quality fabric with an extra layer of insulation to make it a quieter ride, but Ford also upgraded the hydraulic top mechanism. This new mechanism will make lowering or raising the Mustang’s top much quieter, as well as faster.

It seems like the 2015 Ford Mustang would certainly be worth considering if you are in the market for a snazzy car with efficiency to boot. Reports are that they should be made available later this year.
