Rihanna: Youngest Artist To Ever Reach Ten #1 Hits

Rihanna this week became the youngest artist ever to reach 10 chart topping hits. The singer reached the record after her song S&M reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

At just 23-years-old Rihanna managed to reached the top spot in just 4 years, 11 months and 2 weeks, beating out Mariah Carey by two full years.

Aside from the age consideration, she was only behind the Beatles and Diana Ross And The Supremes in terms of the fastest singer(s) to reach 10 number one hits.

On her Twitter page she announced to fans:

“10th!!!!!Now LOOK at what u did,” adding, “THANK U so much, this is the BEST news!U guys #werk hard #whosyadaddy.”

With five albums to her name Rihanna has managed two number one hits on average per album. S&M is the third song off her Loud album to take that honor behind Only Girl and What’s My Name.

It’s been a good 12 months for Rihanna who also scored the massive hit Love The Way You Lie with Eminem.

Oddly Rihanna had to cancel tour dates recently due to bad ticket sales, despite more than 30 million records sold and 10 number one hits.
