Donald Trump seems to be floating on cloud nine! With the passing of his ambitious tax-cutting ” big beautiful bill” on July 4, 2025, the 79-year-old politician has higher hopes for his political agenda. Despite constant media scrutiny, protests, and all the hate he receives from the anti-Trump community, he is stuck to his vision of Making America Great Again!

What has our country become when a family deems it fitting to snap photos of each other in front of Alligator Alcatraz as if it were an entrance sign to an amusement park. Disgusting!!! Simply disgusting!!! pic.twitter.com/IxTIvWbbN6

Recently, Donald Trump announced a new immigration detention center in the Florida Everglades—nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz.”  Since the location is situated in the Everglades, a wetland area in Florida known for its mangrove forests, unique animal species, as the name suggests, Everglades means a “grassy green open space.”

It has already received much backlash for destroying nature.

As per the Irish Star, Alligator Alcatraz has unlikely become the tourist attraction among Trump supporters. Over the weekend, a viral TikTok clip showed a MAGA family posing in front of the facility’s entrance sign, grinning for the camera while someone offscreen condemned them, saying, “You think killing people is fun.”

The video got over 1.5 million views, fueling anger among human rights advocates and environmental groups. The facility, which Donald Trump visited, was surrounded by alligator-infested swamps and located near the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport. While touring, Trump joked about the surrounding reptiles, claiming the natural landscape would deter escape attempts. “We’ll teach them how to outrun an alligator.” The facility has also started selling merchandise to promote it.

The formal name of the facility known as “Alligator Alcatraz” is the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport. It’s a state-owned property located in the Florida Everglades. The “Alligator Alcatraz” nickname was given due to its remote location and the presence of alligators.

In addition, Trump also said last Tuesday that “Pretty soon, this facility will handle the most menacing migrants, some of the most vicious people on the planet.” This statement came after his infamous and controversial immigration and mass deportation policies had deported many people from America. Even after constant criticism of the ruthless way the administration deported people, Trump is adamant about detaining more people in Alligator Alcatraz.

They built a detention camp in a swamp. Then turned it into a brand. Alligator Alcatraz is real.
Now, the Florida GOP is selling it like it’s a theme park.

Inside, photos reveal rows of metal bunk beds encaged in barbed wire fences. Built in just eight days, the compound reportedly includes 200 surveillance cameras, over 400 staff, and capacity for 3,000 detainees. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis confirmed arrivals had already begun.

Environmental advocates, including the National Parks Conservation Association, slammed the project as “inhumane.” Melissa Abdo, the group’s regional director, cautioned, “The brutal climate and isolation put detainees in real danger—especially during extreme heat and hurricane season.”

Already, the facility saw after seep into tents and over electrical cables during what local meteorologists described as a “garden-variety rainstorm”  on July 1, 2025. The storm dropped just 1.5 inches of rain in about 45 minutes, which was not long, as it blew away roofs and water rushed inside the campus.

Nothing to see here except Alligator Alcatraz flooding…less than a day after it opened….it cost $450 million 🤔

Who would have thought a makeshift concentration camp built in a swamp on an old airport runway would have water issues…🤷🏻‍♀️ pic.twitter.com/C6a5yLcT5o

Videos on X showed raw and real-time footage of the horrible storm as users slammed the infrastructure and the incompetence of the Trump administration. The location is clearly not a favorable place to set up a facility for so many immigrants, not only because the Everglades has been home to endangered species and Indigenous communities, but also because of the storms that happen because of the warm ocean waters from the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

Just arrived at Alligator Alcatraz.

Check out this Jurassic Park style entrance. 30 foot walls, razor wire, armed guards. None of this existed a week ago. Insanity impressive from the state of Florida.

Despite the backlash, Trump reportedly hopes to replicate the “Alligator Alcatraz” model in other states, even joking that “deportation is the only real way out.” Only time will reveal if Donald Trump’s ambitious project is a hit or a miss!
