A Slovakian model, Mayka Kukucova, is in prison awaiting her murder trial after allegedly killing her millionaire ex-boyfriend Andrew Bush. The former model was recently moved to a different prison after a catfight over a miniskirt. Mayka confronted another female inmate about stealing her miniskirt. The pair then began a physical altercation and both were placed in solitary confinement. The model says that the prison warders are treating her as a “scapegoat” instead of the victim in the attack; therefore, she requested jail transfer.

The Daily Mail reports that former Slovakian model Mayka Kukucova dated British millionaire Andrew Bush. After the pair broke up, Mayka wouldn’t move on and remained “obsessed” with the man despite the fact he began dating another woman, Maria Korotaeva. In April of 2014, Bush was shot dead in a Costa del Sol villa in Spain after he jetted to the country with his “new” girlfriend for their five-month anniversary. The ex-girlfriend Kukucova was the sole suspect in the case and a warrant was issued for her arrest after she was seen driving away from the villa in Bush’s hummer.

The model turned herself into police in her home country Slovakia after making the nearly 2,000 mile trip back home after the murder. Kukucova was extradited back to Spain for the murder and has been in jail since the arrest. Under Spain’s laws, Kukucova can be kept in prison for two years without any charges being brought against her. As it stands, Kukucova does not have a trial date.

However, the model says that prison warders have been using her as a scapegoat after an altercation in the prison with a female Mexican inmate. The pair got into an argument in the prison’s gym facility after Kukucova accused the woman of stealing her miniskirt. The catfight turned physical and the model was punched in the face. Kukucova says that instead of being treated like a victim of assault, she was thrown into solitary confinement after the incident. Therefore, the woman requested she be moved to a different prison.

The request has been granted and she was moved to a women’s jail in Granada. Mayka’s lawyer says that the woman’s bail application was denied so she will likely remain in the prison until May 2016, when Spain will legally be required to release her if her trial date does not come before the two-year holding period.

“Whatever happens she’s got to be let out next May but that would mean two years behind bars without trial and that’s a long time to be incarcerated when you’re still innocent in the eyes of the law.”
