First Lady Melania Trump’s recent speeches at the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit on March 24 and March 25 were criticized online by several internet users, mainly over her tone, as critics called it “cold” and “robotic”.
As per a press release, the two-day global summit was held at the State Department in Washington, D.C., and was attended by world leaders from several countries along with 28 “technology entities”.

During Day 1 of the summit, the First Lady said during her speech, “Our key driver: to cultivate the skills young people need to be successful in this rapidly evolving world.”
“Fostering the Future Together will achieve this by creating innovative learning programs, advocating for supportive education policies, sponsoring new tech-focused legislation, and building strong partnerships between the public and private sectors,” Melania Trump added.
Interestingly, her speech garnered critics’ attention, as they focused more on the tone with which the FLOTUS delivered it.
X user @markgoo80547801 wrote, “I heard her 7-minute speech. She claims to be fluent in 7 languages. Guess English isn’t one of them. I can never understand a word she says.”
I never thought I could have secondhand embarrassment for somebody that I don’t care for him. But oh my God. This is so embarrassing. Lol 🤣

Similarly, @SilverBlazeX, another X user, mentioned, “I never thought I could have secondhand embarrassment for somebody that I don’t care for him. But oh my God. This is so embarrassing. Lol.”
Meanwhile, @BrittanyinTexas wrote, “I commend anyone who could sit through 5 seconds of her speaking, let alone 5 minutes. Pure torture.”

The global coalition summit’s main focus was to empower children through education, tech, and AI, apart from addressing online safety. The FLOTUS announced the initiative at the UN General Assembly last September.
During day 2 of the summit, the First Lady appeared alongside a U.S.-built humanoid robot from Figure AI, as she quipped about it being her “first American-made humanoid guest in the White House.”
The robot’s presence, named Figure 03, symbolized AI integration in education and drew significant media attention.
This is not the first time that Melania Trump has faced online criticism for her speech. Several such instances have occurred during her husband’s second term.
In October 2025, during a Navy 250th anniversary event in Virginia, the First Lady enthusiastically greeted sailors with what sounded like a mispronounced “Hooyah Navy!”

Following this, people on social media exploded with jokes about her adding it to her “list of languages” and awkward attempts to connect with the military audience.
Similarly, in January 2026, Melania delivered remarks as she praised artificial intelligence (AI) like a robot during a Zoom AI learning event. This led to online mockery as people responded with lines such as “Well, her intelligence is certainly artificial” and joked that she sounded like a robot.
