Lexi Daniels’ bio on her Instagram asks one question: Who needs two arms?
And Lexi Daniels answers that question herself when she takes the stage at the JUMP Dance Convention in Pittsburgh. To dance, Lexi proves, you don’t need two arms.
The 15-year-old girl stood up in front a huge audience of her dancing peers and performed flawlessly to a remix of Waka Flocka Flame’s song “No Hands.” While the song choice might seem questionable to some, Lexi obviously embraces it as she completely nails the dance routine.
“My friends and I laughed when we heard the words to the song because it was so ironic,” she said.
The routine was choreographed by Wildabeast Adams , a professional dancer and choreographer who has put together routines for such stars as Usher, Madonna, T-Pain, and Zendaya.
Adams himself was impressed with Lexi’s performance, writing in the video description, “Had to call this girl out and give her light and make her feel special, because she is.”

Lexi has always dreamed of becoming a dancer, and having only one arm has only made her work harder to achieve her goals. However, the young girl admits that growing up with only one arm, something that makes her instantly and visibly different, has not always been easy. She says that not a day goes by that someone doesn’t ask her what has happened to her arm. She was born without her right hand, with her arm ending at just below her elbow, and so she explains her difference eloquently .
“I compare my arm to the way we all have different faces. I was born like that.”
Luckily, the occasional teasing and constant questions have never stopped Lexi from striving to become the confident, talented dancer she now proves herself to be. In the process, she has become an inspiration to other kids like her, who may be facing a challenge or perceived disability. Lexi does not make light of challenges or disabilities, but she does encourage others to still try.
“I want everyone considered ‘disabled’ to prove to everyone else that they are nowhere near disabled if they put their mind to a goal. It will not be easy and not everyone will support you, but in the end when you achieve what you have always wanted, it will be worth it.”
As for Lexi herself, if someone tells her she can’t do something, she takes it as a personal challenge .
“When people say I can’t do something it just gives me more motivation to prove them wrong. Dance is my passion, and I am not going to give up on something just because of the way I was born.”
