Leonardo DiCaprio‘s father, George, may have a mission to be the next Donald Trump. The 80-year-old could employ his son’s fame in Hollywood to build connections and gain a strong foothold in politics.
While Leonardo might be on his way to a normal lifestyle, his father has become too ambitious over his political goals. He was spotted with his son at Rao’s hosting a dinner with high profile businessmen in NYC. According to a report, George wants to step into politics and he invited Leo to the dinner to back him up with his star power. Leo was not aware of the political agenda and thought it to be just a networking dinner.
As revealed by Rob Shuter on Substack, Leo did not know it was a political strategy session. George thinks that he’ll be able to bridge the gap between right-wing power and Hollywood. He’s aiming to use his son for that added power to try his hand at politics. However, George is a filmmaker and has no experience in the political world.
So, Leo may not be thrilled by this development. According to insiders, George has had his eye on politics for a while now. He considers his creative background to give him a fresh perspective to bridge the cultural divides.

George may be expecting more help from his son once he dives deep into politics, but this might turn out to be a backfire on Leo. He is popular so far for his huge age gap relationship and not dating anyone who is over 25 years old. Another thing he is known for is his political stance.
During the elections, he was supporting Kamala Harris, so we know he won’t turn out to be a MAGA supporter. Moreover, he criticized Trump for his views on climate change. He called out Trump for denying science in his endorsement video for Kamala.

Earlier in 2016, Leo did not support the Republican Party. He urged everyone to ignore Trump’s theatrics and not ignore his stance on climate change. According to him, Trump did not make up to be a reasonable person.
He argued on Trump’s candidature considering how people should not have a candidate who does not even believe in science. Leonardo has been an advocate for climate change making people aware of the concerning issue humanity is facing due to it.
Since Leonardo did not know the dinner’s agenda, he may have been blindsided by his father while having company. Bruce Blakeman was present at the dinner, who is a former commissioner for the New York-New Jersey Port Authority.
George planned this dinner with a conservative supporting crowd and placed Leo in the middle of them. He’s desperate to get into politics and hopes Leo’s name and fame will help his new venture.
