Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff’s marriage has been rumored to the rocks for a while now. A previous report even claimed that the couple was living separately. Things between the former Vice President and her husband started going downhill after Harris lost the 2025 Presidential election.

There has also been speculation about Emhoff accepting a new job in New York. Kamala Harris, on the other hand, has reportedly decided to move to California. The 60-year-old is planning to run for the governor’s election in 2026.

A PageSix report claimed that Emhoff was spotted partying with celebrities in New York with Kamala nowhere in sight.

Despite all the reports and speculation surrounding the marriage, the couple has noticeably been spending more time together. A few days ago, Kamala and Doug were spotted at New York City’s Polo Bar. The couple extended their date night by moving it to Broadway. Reports suggest that the couple went on to watch the musical ‘Othello.’

A video of the couple exiting the Barrymore Theatre surfaced on X (formerly known as Twitter), which fueled divorce rumors yet again. This time, Emhoff’s body language has people convinced that the couple’s marriage is on the rocks. The clip that was posted on the platform shows the two exiting the theatre and being met with a horde of fans.

A security guard standing outside the door shakes hands with Kamala, while Doug does not get greeted. The former Vice President naturally goes on to greet fans, she can be seen shaking hands and waving to the fans. While her husband just stands in the background looking rather unenthusiastic.

A few moments later, Emhoff decides to leave his wife behind to complete her pleasantries. In the video, he can be seen getting into the car to wait for his wife. While Kamala’s time as the Vice President, Emhoff’s career clearly took a back seat.

The video could be proof of the possibility of him being tired of always being in the background. The couple has had to navigate their way through each other’s professional lives. The source also alleged the Democrat’s husband looked like a “hypocritical a–, after the bombshells that he had gotten his child’s nanny pregnant while married to his first wife and assaulted his ex-girlfriend on the heels of his ‘I am woman’ crusade.”

Donald Trump reportedly signed a deal with the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher. Interestingly, that is the firm that Emhoff works at. According to a recent report, this particular move could also cause friction in Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff’s marriage.
