I started my journalistic career as a radio news correspondent in Manila until martial law shut down my employer. Segue to raising bees for honey in Pontiac, Quebec, researching the life of native artist Benjamin Cheechee who hanged himself in jail cell in Ottawa and authoring the "grouse Mountain Poet" cartoon strip for the Vancouver Sun. I also sold books, tax shelters and uniform rental packages. Now I'm back to journalism, completing a full circle.
