It’s no secret that the WWE locker room has been going through a challenging time. With guys like Roman Reigns and others out with a viral illness, WWE officials had to make some really tough booking decisions over the past couple of weeks. For instance, a lot of fans are questioning why AJ Styles won the WWE Title last night the United Kingdom. However, those are not the only questions coming out of last night’s show.
During last night’s edition of SmackDown Live , The Usos were scheduled to defend their Tag Team Titles against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin. Unfortunately, the title match seemed to be cut short after a big chop block from Gable appeared to hurt Jey Uso. The Usos actually took the heel victory with a count out, but there is a lot of speculation about one half of the Usos suffering an injury last night at the worst time.
Not only have The Usos been riding a huge wave of momentum and are currently holding the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship, but they are scheduled for a big match at WWE Survivor Series against the Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus, who just won the titles on Monday night . If Jey Uso has suffered a significant injury, then The Usos title reign is over and WWE officials will have to make another huge change to the card for ‘ Survivor Series. ‘ There is also the question about Jimmy Usos’ WWE future.
Over the past several months, The Usos have been arguably the best tag team on WWE television. The feud with The New Day elevated their game and the expectation is they would have a lengthy reign with the Tag Team Titles. Nothing is confirmed, but Jey Uso going down with an injury could mean the permanent end of their team. WWE officials may not want Jimmy Uso to be a healthy scratch for months on end, and now could be his chance to try his luck as a singles performer. On paper, Jimmy Uso could be very successful.
Hopefully, Jey Uso’s hasn’t suffered a serious injury and all creative plans can continue heading into WWE Survivor Series . If the worst-case scenario turns out to be true, WWE officials will have more tough choices to make about the future of The Usos. Until there’s an update, the most the fans can do is hope for the best.
