The U.S. population will hit 315.1 million people on January 1, 2013.

The Census Bureau announced this week that the U.S. population increased by 2.3 million people, or .73 percent during 2012. At the start of 2012 there were 312.8 million people in the United States. The population has increased 6.3 million, or 2.05 percent, since the last Census Day on April 1, 2010.

The Census Bureau also said that the U.S. population is expected to increase during 2013.

The Bureau said in a statement :

“In January 2013, one birth is expected to occur every eight seconds in the United States and one death every 12 seconds.”

The U.S. population grew by .73 percent this year to his 315.1 million and it’s only going to get better over the next few decades. Earlier this month, the government agency predicted that the U.S. population will exceed 400 million people by 2051. By 2060, the population will grow to 420.3 million.

The Bureau also predicts that the non-hispanic white population will cease to the be the majority by 2043.

But even as the United States population grows it only represents a small percentage of the Global population. According to the Bureau, there are approximately 7,056,208,675 people living on earth today. Including Jiroemon Kimura , the oldest man to ever live on earth.
