Suri Cruise has been stuck on the sideline during a summer’s worth of drama as her parents Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise went through a very public divorce, but from the looks of it the 6-year-old is keeping pretty normal amidst the turmoil.
Suri was spotted in New York riding a bike alongside her mom, Katie Holmes, Us Weekly reported . Though she still had the training wheels on, it was clear that Suri Cruise was determined to master biking as she made several turns around a playground next to a young friend.
Both Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have made it a priority to keep their attention on Suri. The divorce was finalized this week after the couple quickly came to terms on a settlement in July — a fast-track unusual for New York, where the divorce took place — and with no with no prolonged courtroom drama or nasty public feuding, bother parents have focused all of their energy on Suri.
This summer Katie Holmes enrolled Suri in an exclusive private school in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood, a bit of a surprise after earlier reports said that Katie wanted Suri in Catholic school. Tom Cruise has also spent a lot of time with Suri, with Katie reportedly making sure he gets good interaction with his daughter.
“Katie wants to make sure the visits are in the context of him being a parent figure,” a source told Us Weekly . “He adores Suri, but now he’s afraid he won’t be able to have a close relationship with her.”
Suri Cruise has a little more than her parents’ support, too. As part of the divorce settlement, Tom Cruise agreed to pay Katie Holmes more than $30,000 a month in child support, the Boston Herald reported.
