Tablets continue to be a blazing hot sector and manufacturing of them keep humming along at a rapid rate. Acer, a company that sells a wide range of consumer electronics, most notably Desktop PCs and laptops, is rolling out their Iconia Tab A200 on January 15th.

The tablet will be released with Android 3.2 Gingerbread, but the latest OS, 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, will be pushed out to customers in mid February. Acer is sticking to making affordable products and starting at $329.99 for the Iconia Tab A200, it’s sure to beat out the cost of an iPad 2.

The specs are as follows :

  • 10.1 inch HD multitouch display with 1280-by-800 resolution
  • Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core chip with GeForce GPU
  • 8 hours of battery life
  • USB 2.0 port for connecting other devices
  • MicroSD slot for increased storage and/or external storage

Great specs at the price point and Acer is also calling the Iconia Tab a major gaming tablet so it’s sure to be a good fit for gamers. And with Nvidia onboard, one of the World’s leading manufacturers of high performance graphics cards, it’s sure to bring goodness to the HD multitouch display.

Speaking of the Tegra 2 onboard, “The slate comes with the Tegra Zone Android app, which allows users to find and download Android games optimized for tablets powered by Tegra, as well as Netflix for streaming TV and movies and the Kindle app for electronic reading.”

You can expect the 8GB model at $329.99 and the 16GB model for $349.99. Keep in mind that there is a MicroSD slot so you can have even more storage which is a plus for the data junkies out there.
