WWE News: Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle Passes Out On Plane, Smackdown Writers Snap Photos

Former WWE champion and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle was on board a plane that was headed to New York City for the New York Impact Wrestling tapings. WWE writers and production crew were also on board the same flight that was from Pittsburgh’s Smackdown tapings last Tuesday.

While on the plane, Angle’s condition was said to be the talk of the town, as he was passed out. WWE officials were present at the time.

“Angle was reportedly passed out on the flight, and the WWE crew took photos of him. The photos circulated around the WWE locker room and the producer’s meeting at the Smackdown tapings this week, and Angle’s condition on the plane was the subject of a lot of conversation in WWE.”

Now, everybody falls asleep on airplanes. Since they aren’t entertaining, the frequent flyer brings a book, listens to music, or falls asleep. The report noted that his condition was in question. This isn’t Angle’s first run with bad news, and alcohol could have been a player in this situation.

Last August, the former WWE champ was arrested for his fourth alcohol-related crime in the last six years. Immediately following the crime, Angle checked himself into a rehabilitation facility. That is something nobody wants to endure, especially multiple times. His family didn’t comment on the situation, but Impact Wrestling did.

Dixie Carter came out the following week and announced the status of Angle, who was supposed to be involved in a big angle last summer.

It’s no secret that Angle wants to return to the WWE, the place that made him famous around the professional wrestling industry. He already won the gold medal for the United States with a broken neck and won the hearts of millions. The Pittsburgh native didn’t rule the return impossible. Personally, I’d love to see him in a WWE ring before he takes his shoes off on the mat.

The latest update we’ve been able to provide came in May as Joe Burgett updated us on the status of Angle. He tore his ACL in May and hasn’t wrestled since. His Impact Wrestling contract is up in September, and the current Executive Director of TNA Wrestling is rushing to get back in the ring.

Here is #mycomeback 14 “Intensity”. My favorite 1 Yet. Much Love! https://t.co/FctgA6Nl96 pic.twitter.com/TGWYqZfO5m

He’s dubbing it “#mycomeback,” and whether that means to the WWE or TNA, Angle doesn’t want to quit the squared circle any time soon.
